I bought a pack of five of these “battery connection cartridges” (!) from GotVapes. I ordered the 2.4 – 2.6 XL version, the pack I received was marked 2.6 – 2.8 and in fact the first two I checked measured 3.0 and 2.8, so I guess there is an element of randomness involved in buying these! It is claimed that these are the final and ultimate development of the C-E2 and there is an enthusiastic review from Grimm Green on the website. I tried the C-E2 soon after I started vaping and I would still rate that as my most frustrating vaping experience yet! Really good tokes would be followed by absolutely vile ones and attempting the various suggested mods resulted in a completely mangled plastic tube and the rest of the pack consigned to the back of a drawer where it still resides. I did later discover that when the innards are in a clearo tank they work really well.
Anyway, I added a pack of the purple version to some other stuff of theirs that I wanted to try and picked up a violet marble vase drip tip while I was at it – I was clearly in a whimsical mood the night I put this order in.
In Use
I decided to just try the prescribed method; took the cap and ring out and filled through the tiny filler holes with a spikey thing – they hold a nominal 1.8ml. The first big surprise was I could actually get the 510 drip tip on it – a tight fit but it works, so you don’t have to use the little tip that comes with them. The second even bigger surprise was that they actually work out of the box!
I have only been using these for a day so far and been through about 2ml of juice so obviously I cannot say how long they will last, but so far so good. I do find you have to tip them up very regularly, but only for “a five count”, otherwise a consistently decent vape, using the mainly PG juices I prefer. My current favourite comparable device is the Imist and in comparison I found these stack up well. Like the Imist I find the flavour is much better than a cartomiser, they are easy to refill and you can see when you need to do it. The main difference to me is that the Imist gives a cooler tighter draw which I prefer – these are airier and warmer. Personally, even at 3 ohms I could only enjoy them at no more than about 4 volts, so perfect for an eGo/ Riva or a standard mechanical battery mod. I also tried them on the SDK which actually seemed to make them cooler, but even airier.
Conclusion
So, to sum up, for me these are a decent daytime vape when I don’t need too much of a throathit. Very good flavour, oh and plenty of vapour! The plastic casing certainly seems very solid, absolutely no signs of any leaks yet, they will take (with a bit of persuasion) a 510 drip tip, you can get them in a range of funky colours and, if you are lucky, a range of resistances.
Here is my attempt at colour co-ordination sitting on an Alpha.
