And there was me thinking I was all unique but, no, one week in and I've done what pretty much everybody seems to do and have (as of this afternoon) ditched the Halo in favour of the 900mAh eGo XL with boge cartomizers and some Menthol Mist ejuice from ENJuice.
Apart from the eternity it took to charge the batteries (the mains charger will be going back since it seems to have been DOA, despite having a red led on it) I'm very pleased. I dutifully followed some step by step instructions on how to fill my cart from an old thread on here and as soon as I saw that green light, I was ready to go!
I have to agree with everyone who knows better and say that it is a totally different beast from the Halo. Don't get me wrong, the Halo menthol cartridges tasted good and I haven't touched an analogue in just under a week now, but I was getting through three a day - which would be expensive to maintain long term. Then there were the batteries - my laptop doesn't look quite the same without its little fake fag sticking out of the side, charging, since I had one constantly on the go. I was probably using 4 charges worth of battery a day - not ideal in the long term. So, the Halo is a great little thing for trying out the whole e-cig thing and much more compact than my big beastie of a purple eGo, but it wasn't quite cutting it.
I am on a massive learning curve. I have learned that I really don't actually like the taste of tobacco, so this particular juice is not one I'd choose to vape all day, but I have a mixed pack of pure menthols and a vanilla on its way so I'll either switch to one of those and pass on this bottle, or I might try adding a few drops in with a mintier flavour to see if I can take the edge off it and use it up.
I've found today that with the eGo I'm vaping less. I think that's because I'm getting a far better hit from it and so each drag is much more satisfying than the poor little Halo. So all in all, I'm a happy bunny - and now I've joined the ranks of vapers who stalk their postman before rugby-tackling him to the ground to get their parcel of goodies...
