Ok Smokey - Collected Juice Reviews

Posted by prof beard , 15 January 2012 · 1,175 views

Background, and kudos to Abe

Since mid-2009, I’ve posted a review of each juice I’ve tried on the Liberty Flights Forum. In all have reviewed 41 juices supplied by Liberty Flights, and 61 juices from other vendors. Given that many of my reviews of other vendors’ products have been very positive, I think Abe deserves real recognition for allowing someone to post them on his forum (most vendors wouldn’t).

The links to the sub-forums in question are:

Liberty Flights Juices:
http://www.liberty-f....php?board=16.0

Other Vendors’ Juices:
http://www.liberty-f....php?board=17.0

I intend to keep posting my individual juice reviews on the LF forum, but thought it might be nice to produce some “collected reviews” for vendors I’d reviewed a significant number of juices from.

The first of these “collected reviews” is for OK Smokey. OKS were one of the first vendors I bought liquid from (TW and LF were the very first) and I’ve continued to use them. I’ve included the date for each review and in hindsight, its remarkable that I haven’t really changed my mind about any of them over of years. Its also worth noting that OKS juices have remained pretty consistent in flavour of time as well (despite changes in formulation).

I know OKS are regarded as “controversial” by some vapers because of their “quit-kit” habits and even I wish they would put “INGREDIENTS LISTS” on their products (you will ote I’ve said this in my reviews – and have said that in reviews I’ve posted on the OK Forum too). But as a tobacco flavour lover, OKS make some of the best…

OK Smokey Papastratos
January 03, 2012

This review is of the OK Smokey "Papastratos" tobacco flavour e-liquid supplied in "Extra" (30mg) strength in a 20ml quantity.

I've been using this liquid in a Touchwood Mini fitted with a Cisco HH.357 atomiser at 1.5ohm and in a Screwdriver Mk 1 fitted with a LF LR901 atomiser (1.7ohm)

As usual the liquid came packaged in a childproof plastic squeezy bottle of the "usual" type and with no ingredients list. I do wish OKS would supply a list. Anyway I understand the liquid is "diluted" VG base.

The liquid is a strong "gold" colour and very clear. The liquid itself has a fairly strong tobacco smell with a sort of slightly fruity popcorn overtone.

The liquid flows very well.

When vaped, the liquid has a slightly fruity/wheaty "only just sweetish" tobacco taste and, as you'd expect, a bit "foreign". The aftertaste is slightly juicy and just a bit mouth drying - a sort of fruity/wheaty- ness and by no means overly sweet. The liquid does leave some stickiness in the mouth.

On the Touchwood with the HH.357 the hit is very good - like a strongish cig - it is smoother and cooler on the Screwdriver but still a good hit - vapour is also very good.

The vapour has a tobacco smell to it, and doesn't linger - I used this all over the New Year weekend and got no comments.

I have NO IDEA what Papastratos cigs taste like - to quote Wikipedia "Papastratos (Greek: Παπαστράτος ανώνυμη Βιομηχανική ΕταιρΕία σιγαρέττων) is a Greek tobacconist and is the largest manufacturer and distributor of cigarettes in Greece" so they must make a fair range of cigs. A very decent vape overall...

OK Smokey Cecil
December 26, 2011

This review is of the OK Smokey "Cecil" tobacco flavour e-liquid supplied in "Extra" (30mg) strength in a 20ml quantity.

I've been using this liquid in a Super T Precise Plus fitted with a Bulli A2 atomiser and a 701 cartridge and in a Mk1 Screwdriver fitted with a LF LR901 1.7ohm atomiser and an Empire Drip Shield with Avid Vaper ceramic drip tip.

Again, the liquid came packaged in a childproof plastic squeezy bottle of the "usual" type and with no ingredients list. I do wish OKS would supply a list. I understand the liquid is "diluted" VG base.

The liquid is a medium to strong "gold" colour and very clear. The liquid itself has a fairly strong tobacco smell with a "fruit cake" overtone and possible a little nuttiness.

The liquid flows very well which shows it is dilute compared to standard VG mixes.

When vaped, the liquid has a pretty unsweet (but not "dry") tobacco taste with just a hint of dried fruit and nut. Not a UK type tobacco more a "blended" cigarette. The aftertaste is not strong and, unlike the Daviddoff, is NOT mouth drying to any great extent. It is almost entirely tobacco with a hint of something "softer". The liquid leaves only a slight stickiness in the mouth. Overall I rather like the flavour...

With both the Bulli and the LR901 the hit is good but not fierce - about the same on both but the 901 gives a more complex flavour. It is a good prolonged vape - I have been vaping it exclusively for three days including all day Christmas Day...

The vapour has a modest tobacco smell to it, and doesn't linger - no comments drawn from third parties.

I have NO IDEA what Cecil cigs taste like - apparently they are Danish from the "House of Prince" - but this is a good tobacco liquid - not as "great" as OKS Old Holburn, but very good.

OK Smokey Davidoff
December 15, 2011

This review is of the OK Smokey "Davidoff" tobacco flavour e-liquid supplied in "Extra" (30mg) strength in a 20ml quantity.

I've been using this liquid in a Touchwood Mini fitted with a Cisco Aero LR bridgeless atomiser (dripped) and in a Super T Precise Plus fitted with a Bulli A2 repairable atomiser (with a lowish resistance coil) and a 701 cartridge.

As usual the liquid came packaged in a childproof plastic squeezy bottle of the "usual" type and with no ingredients list. I do wish OKS would supply a list. Anyway I understand the liquid is "diluted" VG base.

The liquid is a medium "gold" colour and very clear. The liquid itself has a slight tobacco smell with a certain “something” overtone. I really can't place the smell - to me it has a slightly sharp damp vegetation note - I tried it on two (non-vaping) friends - who sniffed the open bottle and one said "popcorn" and the other said "hamster cage" file:///Users/staff/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems/msoclip/0clip_image002.png

The liquid flows very well which shows it is dilute compared to standard VG mixes.

When vaped, the liquid has a noticeably "dry" tobacco taste not a UK type tobacco but not exotic either - just a bit "foreign". The aftertaste is mild but very mouth drying - no obvious tastes like fruit, nuts or vanilla, just some tobacco and a certain slightly sharp "undergrowth" note - not unpleasant I should stress - just odd. A good feature is that the liquid leaves no real stickiness in the mouth.

On the Touchwood with the Aero the hit is fierce - it is smoother on the Bulli but still a strong hit - the vapour is excellent and a few good pulls can make you sit up and take notice!

The vapour has a mild tobacco smell to it, and doesn't hang around - I got no comments on that in the pub.

I have NO IDEA what Davidoff cigs taste like so can't comment on "authenticity" - but this is a decent tobacco liquid.

OK Smokey Condor
October 04, 2011

This review is of a "pipe" tobacco flavour from OK Smokey – “Condor”

For this review I used the 38mg “Ultra High” “single flavour” Condor in two different devices and atomizers: an Apex Alpha Ultra with RES fitted with a Cisco 1.5ohm 306 atomiser and "Cannon" drip tip and a Mk1 Screwdriver fitted with a fresh 1000mah yellow Spiderfire battery and a 1.7ohm LF LR901 atty and Super T drip tip with Empire Drip Shield

The liquid came packaged in a clearly labeled 20ml slightly “clouded” child-proof squeezy bottle but, as always with OKS, no ingredients list. I do wish they would supply ingredients lists!!!

The liquid is a dark orange colour and very clear. The liquid smells strongly of tobacco with a bit of "vegetable" and a certain "citrus" fruit element. The liquid flows and drips really well – I’d say “runny” almost – not normally what I’d expect of high VG juice?

When vaped, the liquid tastes pretty good. With the 1.7ohm LR901 it tastes very tobacco and certainly a strong perhaps pipey tobacco at that – a nice but full tobacco flavour with (as in the smell) some "dull" fruit/vegetation. With the 1.5ohm Cisco the experience is "dryer" and more pronounced. The aftertaste is a very full tobacco taste and mostly dry - just a barest hint of sweetness.

The hit is strong - and with the Cisco distinctly "grief!!!!" - and biased to the inhale…

The juice is only fairly mouth drying but leaves little stickiness.

The vapour smells very pipey but doesn't over-linger.

Overall – a strong tobacco flavour and pretty good - it might be a bit TOO full for some.

NOTE - I first used this liquid some months ago, then forgot about it and returned to it last week - it had improved dramatically...

OK Smokey Amber Leaf
February 02, 2011
This review is of a new “roll-up” tobacco flavour from OK Smokey – “Amber Leaf”

For this review I used the 38mg “Ultra High” “single flavour” Amber Leaf in three different devices and atomizers: a Nuck’s Fistpack fitted with a Bulli-Smoker A2 atomiser and set to a regulated 4.2+ volts, a Super T Super Six fitted with a fresh Trustfire 14500 battery and a TW 1.5ohm LR510 atty and Super T drip tip, and a Mk1 Screwdriver fitted with a fresh 1000mah yellow Spiderfire battery and a 1.7ohm LF LR901 atty and 901 cart…

The liquid came packaged in a clearly labeled 20ml slightly “clouded” childproof squeezy bottle but, as always with OKS, no ingredients list. Given the recent debates/arguments above whether or not OKS tobacco flavours have changed in the PG/VG mix, an ingredients list would settle such debate!

The liquid is a pale to mid gold colour and very clear. The liquid smells distinctly of tobacco with just a bit of dried fruit. The liquid flows and drips really well – I’d say “runny” almost – not normally what I’d expect of high VG juice?

When vaped, the liquid tastes pretty good. With the 1.7ohm LR901 it tastes like a mild roll-up (I never smoked Amber Leaf I should stress) – nice tobacco flavour with (as in the smell) possibly a hint of dried fruit. With the 1.5ohm 510 the experience is basically the same (vapour just a bit warmer). With the A2 atomiser, the flavour is more pronounced and has a distinct “roll-up” taste. The aftertaste is primarily tobacco and noticeably "dry" - almost sour with the dried fruit hanging in there still.

The hit is surprisingly smooth (especially given the use of LR atties and the strength of the liquid) – not weak, satisfying but in no way rough. Biased heavily to the inhale…

The juice is only very slightly mouth drying and leaves very little stickiness.

The vapour smells very much like a mild roll-up and doesn't linger.

Overall – definitely a “roll-up” flavour but a “mild” one – not an exciting juice but a very decent “sustained vape”... I'll have to try the Double Flavour version (which is available now) and update this in due course.

Update for DF Version - August 2011

I'm now using the 30mg DF (Double Flavour) version of OKS Amber Leaf.

The DF version is still not sweet on the aftertaste, but the taste when vaped is somewhat "juicier" (but still nicely "tobacco"), and the liquid is a bit more mouth drying than the single flavour version

I'm using it in my Apex Alpha Ultra with RES and it's a very decent vape.

OK Smokey Liquid Gold
December 08, 2009

From Portugal, this is my fourth review in series of reviews of OK Smokey flavours in 10ml size and at 30mg strength...

As usual, the OKS 30mg Liquid Gold liquid was used in a 901 enabled Screwdriver (Mk II). I've vaped my way through nearly the full 10ml of the liquid (so it's obviously not terrible file:///Users/staff/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems/msoclip/0clip_image003.png).

As with the other flavours the liquid came packaged in a childproof plastic squeezy bottle of the same type used by ecis and LF, but with no ingredients list and an absence of safety warnings on the bottles. I hope George at OKS rectifies these failings. (Again, the bottle has no YNDK mark, so this is almost certainly not Dekang liquid - and DK don't make liquid above 24mg as far as I know)

Liquid is a medium to strong "gold" colour and very clear. The liquid itself has a slight tobacco smell with a certain “vegetable” overtone (not nasty I stress, but odd).

The liquid flows well, which really makes it soak into the cart well.

When vaped, the liquid does have a tobacco taste but a very mild one – a bit like an “ultra mild” cig. The aftertaste is very mild as well with just a bit of sharp fruitiness – possible apricot-ish. A good feature is that the liquid almost no lingering aftertaste or dryness in the mouth.

With a fresh battery the hit is satisfying but not “wow” even at 30mg – BUT the nicotine is there alright and a sustained bout can make the head spin.

The vapour has a mild tobacco smell to it, and doesn't hang around or travel far. - Very useful for indoor use in crowded places.

Overall, I've not enjoyed vaping this liquid as much as the Drum and Old Holburn, but it is a good replacement for a week ciggie (but a weak ciggie with lots of nicotine).

Update June 2011

Since I reviewed this liquid, OKS have switched their formulation for tobacco flavours to a dilute VG mix. I've been trying this out with my SD (using a LF LR901 at 1.7ohms) and my Ultra (using a 1.5ohm Cisco 306). I can report that little has changed in the vaping experience.

At LR the hit is obviously greater - but not throat ripping, even with the Cisco. The liquid is perhaps a little more mouth drying and the "fruitiness" is rather less sharp (VG tends to add sweetness). But overall this remains a decent vape - a nice "mild" tobacco for those who like such things.

OK Smokey Benson and Hedges
June 17, 2011

I came across this in my "juice bank" and realised that I'd never reviewed it...

The OKS 30mg Benson and Hedges liquid was used in both an LR901 enabled Screwdriver (Mk I) and an Apex Alpha Ultra with RES fitted with a LR Cisco 306 atomiser. In truth, there was little difference in the experience the liquid gave between the two. I’ve vaped my way through about 8ml or so of the liquid.

The Liquid is a pale yellow colour and very clear. The liquid has a strong tobacco smell - with a slight smokiness. The liquid flows well.

When vaped, the liquid has a noticeable "cig-like" character, with real tobacco which is quite "UK" except for just the barest hint of something sharply fruity. Not the full "ashtray" sought by many, but elements of it.... I should stress, though, that this is not a strong tobacco flavour - just a real(ish) one.

The hit is good rather than excellent, but very well balanced.

The aftertaste doesn't hang around, and is only a little mouth drying and not sweet to any bothering extent.

The vapour has a definite cig-like tobacco smell to it, but not so much as to be noticeable to 3rd parties - I've used it in the pub several times.

Overall, this is a decent, if unremarkable "straight" tobacco flavour which should appeal to someone who wants a "cig flavour".

OK Smokey Assos
January 21, 2011

This review is of a new liquid from OK Smokey - “Assos” – described on the OKS web-site as being a “Greek Cigarette Brand”.

The liquid, at 38mg strength (it wasn’t available in 30mg), was supplied in a standard 20ml OKS squeezy bottle listing flavour and strength.

For this review the liquid was used with a 1.5ohm TW LR 510 atomiser fitted to a Super T Super Six with a 900mah Trustfire 14500 battery and “shorty” Super T drip-tip plugged into a Super T VapeMate with the OKS bottle screwed into it.

The liquid is a pale brownish-gold colour and very clear. The liquid smells of – OMG! – peppermint and tobacco and not much else.

The liquid flows very well.

When vaped, the liquid tastes like “tobacco flavoured peppermints” - not “menthol cigarette” or “peppermint flavoured tobacco”.

Aftertaste is “minty” – much like sucking a Polo Mint after having smoked a cigarette, there is only very slight residual stickiness though, and the liquid is not noticeably mouth drying. The vapour is very thick and strong and pretty warm (non surprising with the LR510) and the hit strong and biased to the inhale. The vapour smells of minty-tobacco but doesn't seem to linger.

Overall – not what I was expecting! However it is actually not an unpleasant vape – genuinely minty but with that added “cig-ness”…

UPDATE - I had a communication from Dale at OKS and she said they were "sorting the Assos out with the supplier" - I noticed it had gone from sale - so perhaps what I got was NOT what Assos was intended to be!!!

UPDATE – I have a new bottle of this – will post a revised review in due course

OK Smokey Drum
November 22, 2009

This review comes as a result of OKS releasing a range of "rolling tobacco" flavours. These interested me so I bought one of OK's "five flavours selections" of 10ml bottles. Owing to availability, these flavours are at 30mg strength...

As usual, the OKS 30mg Drum liquid was used in a 901 enabled Screwdriver (Mk 1). I'm been vaping the liquid almost exclusively for about 3 days.

Liquid came package in a childproof plastic squeezy bottle of the same type used by ecis and LF, but with no ingredients list. (The bottle has no YNDK mark, so not Dekang liquid - and DK don't make liquid above 24mg as far as I know)

Liquid is a strong "old gold" colour and very clear. The liquid itself has a strong tobacco smell - with a woody/toasty element and some sort of fruit I'm struggling to name.

The liquid flows well, which really makes it soak into the cart well.

When vaped, the liquid really does have a "roll-up" taste and a smokey nature which I suspect (never smoked but have smelled Drum) is quite "Drum-like" - the aftertaste is tobacco with a passing fruitiness.

With a fresh battery the hit is excellent - there is a real tobacco/smoke nature to the hit as well - I don't think this is down to strength as I've used stronger liquids with less hit.

The aftertaste doesn't hang around, and does not leave my mouth dry.

The vapour actually smells of "rolls-up"/Drum but the smell is very short-lived.

Overall, I've really enjoyed vaping this liquid, and would recommend it to tobacco lovers and especially ex-rollie users. I will probably buy this one again - a pleasant surprise...

UPDATE - since I did the first review, I've used quite a bit of this liquid... The original review was of "single flavour", but the OKS "roll up" flavours are also available in "DF" - double flavour...

What’s DF Drum like? - Well, like the regular Drum but more so. I've just tried this out with an LR901 atomiser on my SD Mk1 and the flavour really comes through even at low resistance. With a "regular" 4075 atomiser at 4.2v on my Fistpack the flavour is really rich.

So, I stand by what I said originally, a really good tobacco flavour, and in DF form, one that delivers with a range of resistances, atomisers and voltages...

UPDATE 2 - I've been trying this liquid out (in Double Flavour 30mg extra High) with the Cisco LR306 and LR901 atomisers. The flavour stands up better than most with these "high performance" atties - at 3.7v on my Fistpack (and at a lower voltage on the eGo) with the Cisco LR901, the flavour is very good and the hit excellent

UPDATE 3 - There been a bit of discussion about recent changes in OKS mixes (particularly a change to VG). I recently got a pack of 20ml bottles from OKS (including Assos and Amber Leaf), as I wanted to check this out. The only Drum in DF available was Ultra High (38mg). I had an older bottle of the same liquid - Drum/DF/38mg - and the new liquid looked/smelt the same as the older one. I'm pleased to be able to say that when vaped the stuff is more or less exactly the same (phew) - possibly just a teeny weeny bit sweeter... As there is no ingredients list on OKS bottles I can't comment on composition... I checked it out on the Fistpack, SD and Super Six with a mix of LR 510 and 901 atties (dripped and with carts)

OK Smokey Cuban Cigar
May 09, 2010

This is another review in a series of reviews of OK Smokey flavours in 10ml size and at 30mg strength...

The OKS 30mg CC liquid was vaped in a 4075-enabled Mk 1 Screwdriver. I've vaped my way through nearly the full bottle.

As with other OKS flavours, the liquid comes packaged in a childproof plastic squeezy bottle of the same type used by ecis and LF, but with no ingredients list and an absence of safety warnings on the bottles.

The liquid is a very strong, bright, almost reddish, brown colour and very clear. The liquid itself has a strong tobacco smell but is quite complex - elements of vanilla, caramel and touch of a perfumish fruit of some sort.

The liquid flows well and really soaks into the cart.

When vaped, the liquid has an equally complex taste - a definite cigar element with noticeable vanilla combined with toffee and fruit. The aftertaste is tobacco with same elements - the vanilla and caramel are not overpowering. The liquid doesn't dry the mouth very much, but does leave a slight sweetness and stickiness.

With a fresh battery the hit is very good at 30mg and although no Cohiba, there is a cigarness about the exhale and overall vaping experience.

The vapour has a smoke-like smell to it, but vanishes very fast.

Overall, I've enjoyed this but would personally probably not buy more, because there are other, better, OKS flavours - but if you are into cigars, worth a try.

Update December 2010:

I've been retrying this liquid (still at 30mg) with low resistance atomisers: a Cisco LR901 at 3.7v on my Fistpack and a Liberty Flights LR901 with a fresh battery on my Mk1 Screwdriver.

On the Screwdriver the LF LR901 "lifts" the flavour somewhat - emphasising the vanilla and tobacco, I'd say - an (obviously) increases the hit. Overall, however, the experience is much the same as with the 4075.

With the Cisco LR901, the flavours are "mashed together" and if anything the "cigar-ness" of the liquid is enhanced (at the expense of individual flavour elements) to give a slightly sweet but fairly rich "cigar" flavour - the hit is distinctly "cigar" (I can remember inhaling Cubans).

So - for cigar lovers - try this with a "monster" atomiser, you might well like it file:///Users/staff/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems/msoclip/0clip_image005.png

OK Smokey Golden Virginia
December 02, 2009

This is my third review as a result of OKS releasing a range of "rolling tobacco" flavours. Owing to availability in 10ml size, these flavours are at 30mg strength...

As usual, the OKS 30mg Golden Virginia liquid was used in a 901 enabled Screwdriver (Mk II). I've vaped my way through about 6ml or so of the liquid so far.

As with the other "rolling flavours" the liquid came packaged in a childproof plastic squeezy bottle of the same type used by ecis and LF, but with no ingredients list - I regard this as a fairly big minus - but a bigger minus is the absence of safety warnings on the bottles. (The bottle has no YNDK mark, so this is almost certainly not Dekang liquid - and DK don't make liquid above 24mg as far as I know)

Liquid is a light to medium "gold" colour and very clear. The liquid itself has a tobacco smell, but with a pronounced fruity sweetness overtone.

The liquid flows well, which really makes it soak into the cart well.

When vaped, the liquid does have a tobacco "roll-up" taste and differs from the other two rolling flavours by it heaviness - it leaves the sort of feeling inhaling a Virginia pipe tobacco might give. The aftertaste is much less tobacco-like than the other two flavours and leaves a fruity sweetness in the mouth which becomes "a bit much" with prolonged use

Like the others, with a fresh battery the hit is excellent - but there is "pipeness" to the nature to the hit, and unlike the other two the strength of liquid in terms of nicotine is much more noticeable...

The aftertaste doesn't hang around, but does leave a certain "stickiness" in the mouth.

The vapour has a tobacco smell to it (I'd say a bit like a weakish Virginia pipe mix) but it doesn't hang around or travel far.

Overall, I've not enjoyed vaping this liquid as much as the Drum and Old Holburn, but it is acceptable (I'll finish it off file:///Users/staff/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems/msoclip/0clip_image007.png) Close to a roll-up, but slightly heavy for me.

UPDATE

I've recently been using this liquid in Double Flavour form my SD using a Liberty Flights Low Resistance 901 atomiser - this liquid really takes advantage of low resistance to give great hit whilst retaining the flavour which tastes if anything better with the extra "oomph" from the atty...

OK Smokey Old Holburn
November 28, 2009

This is my second review as a result of OKS releasing a range of "rolling tobacco" flavours. Owing to availability in 10ml size, these flavours are at 30mg strength...

As usual, the OKS 30mg Old Holburn liquid was used in a 901 enabled Screwdriver (Mk II). I've vaped my way through about 8ml or so of the liquid.

The liquid came packaged in a childproof plastic squeezy bottle of the same type used by ecis and LF, but with no ingredients list - I regard this as a fairly big minus - but a bigger minus is the absence of safety warnings on the bottles. (The bottle has no YNDK mark, so this is almost certainly not Dekang liquid - and DK don't make liquid above 24mg as far as I know)

Liquid is a nice "bright gold" colour and very clear. The liquid itself has a strong tobacco smell - with a slight but not unpleasant "vegetation" element and a very slight "lime" hint.

The liquid flows well, which really makes it soak into the cart well.

When vaped, the liquid really does have a "roll-up" taste and a smokey nature which is quite distinct from the OKS Drum liquid - if anything this is nearer to being just a smoke taste, and is one of the most purely tobacco-like liquids I've tried. The aftertaste is smokey/tobacco with just a bit of a sharp lime-like undertone.

Like the OKS Drum, with a fresh battery the hit is excellent - there is a real tobacco/smoke nature to the hit as well - again, I don't think this is down to strength as I've used stronger liquids with less hit.

The aftertaste doesn't hang around, and does not leave my mouth dry OR "sweet".

The vapour has a real tobacco smell to it (one who stuck his nose right into a fresh cloud of it said it smelled a bit "Condor" pipe tobacco like) but it doesn't hang around or travel far.

Overall, I've really enjoyed vaping this liquid, and have probably enjoyed it even more than the Drum. Not an "exciting" flavour, but really close to a roll-up. So, I would recommend it to tobacco lovers and especially ex-rollie users. I will buy this one again - another pleasant surprise, as I have been a bit luke-warm about earlier OKS flavours...

OK Smokey Lambert and Butler
December 17, 2009
Now back in the UK, this is my fifth review in series of reviews of OK Smokey flavours in 10ml size and at 30mg strength...

As usual, the OKS 30mg L&B liquid was used in a 901 enabled Screwdriver (Mk II). I've vaped my way through about 6ml of the liquid so far.

As with the other flavours the liquid came packaged in a childproof plastic squeezy bottle of the same type used by ecis and LF, but with no ingredients list and an absence of safety warnings on the bottles. I'll say again - I hope George at OKS rectifies these failings.

Liquid is a "bright gold" colour and very clear. The liquid itself has a definite tobacco smell with what I can only describe as a "confectionery" overtone - a teeny bit of caramel with a touch of something fruitish.

The liquid flows well, which really makes it soak into the cart well.

When vaped, the liquid has a pronounced tobacco taste - from my memory nothing like L&B, a bit of cross between a medium strength ready-made cig and a roll-up. The aftertaste is tobacco with the same weak fruity toffee element found in the smell. The liquid doesn't dry the mouth much, but does leave a slight stickiness.

With a fresh battery the hit is very good at 30mg and the liquid has a surprisingly cig like exhale to it.

The vapour has a remarkably "fresh" cig-like smell to it, but this vanishes very fast.

Overall, I've enjoyed vaping this liquid apart from the (slightly) sticky mouth bit.

Prof's Review of OK Smokey Virginia
October 02, 2009

This review comes as a result of George Bunn at OKS kindly sending me a couple of 20ml bottle of his juice for acting as "stand-in mod" whilst Smokey Joe was on holiday.

As usual, the OKS 26mg was used liquid in a 901 enabled Screwdriver. I'm been vaping the liquid almost exclusively for about 5 days - so a "true test"

Liquid came package in a plastic squeezy bottle (very squeezy), which sadly has no childproof top - not a problem for me but...

Liquid is a light gold colour and very clear. The liquid itself has a fairly strong tobacco smell - there might be something else in there but I can't pick it out.

The liquid flows well which really makes it soak into the cart well, but the bottle "hole" is a bit on the big side which I find leads to a tendency to overfill the cart if you are not careful.

When vaped, the liquid tastes like a mid-strength UK cig (say Silk Cut Purple) - the aftertaste is tobacco but light with a merest hint of passing sweetness...

Interestingly, like other "Virginia" juices, e.g. LF's, the hit is good but at its best with a fresh battery (i.e. 4+v) - I wonder why this flavour group has a liking for volts?

The aftertaste doesn't hang around, and does not leave my mouth dry.

No second hand odour reported by my "pub buddies", but my wife said it smelt a bit of cigarettes (very briefly).

Overall this is a decent, if unremarkable/mild, cig substitute liquid which can be used for long periods without becoming cloying or over-tasty. A good one for someone just wanting something that tastes like everyday cigs.
