This post is designed to give you an idea of the general purpose and ideas I had in mind when setting up UK Vapers.
Firstly, I know this will be asked / presumed - despite having 'UK' in the name, this does not exclude people from anywhere around the world. Everyone is welcome to join and participate, however keep in mind that the focal point of UK Vapers is the electronic cigarette community within the UK.
There are a number of forums devoted to the subject of electronic cigarettes, however there are very few based in and focused on the UK. In fact the largest UK communities are gathered on forums attached to commercial vendors. Whilst I'm grateful for those places, for they too have enabled me to meet many vapers from my own country and elsewhere in the world, I'm also of the opinion that for obvious reasons this can restrict what can be said in a conversation somewhat.
UK Vapers therefore is being launched to fill a gap in the market so to speak. I hope it will be a place where people are able to freely share their ideas and voice their opinions on everything related to vaping (so long as the conversation is kept civil).
I dare to hope, though not presume, that UK Vapers will become a central hub for the vaping community within the United Kingdom. I hope it will become a place to share information and promote and educate on the use of electronic cigarettes, for new users to ask questions during those first tentative steps, for friendships to be forged, for customers and vendors to come together, and for a real community to be developed.
I hope this goes some way to explaining what this site is all about.
If you've just arrived here, allow me to extend a warm welcome to you!
Happy vaping!

I really hope you achieve your aim, Jackie.
Like you, I've noted that most of the UK-centric fora are attached to vendor sites (yes, mine too!), and I do agree that it's going to be difficult to have completely unbiased conversations going on in such places. That's no slight on any of them - it's completely to be expected.
And, while I'm not by any means anti-septic or a yank-o-phobe, I do feel that certain other forums have become somewhat over-run by campaigning and worrying about the FDA, and have lost sight of what, at one time, seemed to be simply gatherings of like-minded folks sharing experiences and helping newbies out with typical newbie problems with using the kit.
So, all strength to your elbow - let it grow like topsy!

Great idea Jackie :-)
I've felt a bit restricted on sites linked to particular vendors and have perhaps not expressed my views as openly as I would want on occasions.
Thanks for the forum.

I think the variety of topic headings are rounded enough for us all to have a say on whichever subject we choose & retain it within it's relevant catagory.
The members list is growing steady & fast, I predict this will grow in momentum with increasing public awareness of the E-cig concept. We will encounter the rouges, the odd personality clash, new "members" with an agenda but I truly believe there's enough good apples in this particular barrel to make this problem negligible & a vigilent enough management to recognise & deal with any problems in its early stages.
I think the backbone of regular posters will remain civil & true to the nature of the forum, or at least retain the strength & integrity to walk from a conflict rather than engage in it.
Lest the mighty wrath of admin descend upon us

Jackie,
I absolutely cannot thank you enough for this Vapers Forum as a US Ex Pat Vaper!!! Your ideas of what a Vapers Forum should and shouldn't be are not only spot on, but would make an excellent world wide model for them!

I enjoy reading about true admirers and experienced individuals in the vaping community. If it is widely accepted in the US; I haven't been able to find many sites that are as passionate or informed about vaper products. Too many e companies are pushing the e-cig ( cartomizer and battery look -a-like-cigarette, which is weak and forgetable.) I want to quit analogs and enjoy a high quality vaper product. What to do? I need more power and quality. After some extensive research, I came across this site and was recommended a Janty ego XL - can't wait to try it , get rid of tobacco completely, and listen to feedback about other products for a better experience.
