Did you take the window and button out before commencing or was just careful around them?

Knowing me if i tried it on mine, i'd polish the button off and create a frost effect on the window!

Don't want to lose the laser etching either.

Looks very nice though..if i bash mine about and scratch it up a bit i'll probably have a pop at it too.

You can do it without taking it apart, just be careful around the switch & window. If you do accidentally "frost" the window, metal polish like brasso will polish the frosting off it. If you decide to polish, you will lose the etching.

^This.

Didn't need to take it apart. I just put a piece of masking tape over the screen and because the button is raised, it's easy enough to avoid going over it.

My logo has all but gone and is only very slightly visible if the light catches it right. I wasn't at all bothered about this, but something to bear in mind if you wanna keep the logo.

So far it hasn't picked up any scratches, but if it did, I'd just give it another quick polish and it'll get it back to shiny shiny again.

Do you think that the "black chrome" really is chrome, or is it a PVD coating? My brother bought a black chrome version, and it's worn off quite badly. I'm too scared to even use mine!

Candidate for polishing perhaps? Should be a singe if you can get it on your lathe.
