Hi all

1st impression of the Stardust that arrived this morning and i bought myself.

firstly they seem well built from good solid hard plastic. the mouthpiece is of a similar design to a normal drip tip (in shape) this has a small screw thread and a rubber washer which holds it very well in place and gives a leak free seal. the inner workings are very similar to a ce2 with the coil at the top but it has no long pieces of wick extending into the chamber.

To fill them simply unscrew the mouthpiece and fill the chamber avoiding the center post then screw the mouthpiece back on.
after the initial fill i placed 2 drops directly onto the coil and turned it upsidedown just to prime it before my first use.
The wick is fed when you place the Stardust in your mouth a tilt upwards which so far has worked very well.

i have only used the Stardust today and have only used 1 full tank of juice. i have had no leaks and no wicking issues thus far.

the vapour production is extremely good and flavour although a little poor to start (first half tank) is now very good.

1st impressions are good but as we all know things often work well in the beginning then fall short after the honeymoon period so i will update at regular intervals.

Cheers.

UPDATE....

So 24hrs of use and Im having no issues with wicking Im not getting any burnt taste as reported by others. i have had no juice build up in mouthpiece and no leaking.

it is still producing loads of vapour and flavour. i will report if/when i encounter any problems and will update if it continues to perform well..

Cheers

3rd day
had to dry burn early afternoon as i was getting a very slight burnt taste.
A couple of minutes later it's back up and running.
Still no leaks still good vapour and flavour

Looked at a couple of youtube reviews and they look good, just concerned about the draw? It was mentioned the draw was a little tight. I like a light draw, so hoping its not to bad or that it can modded for a lighter draw.

the draw is a little stiff but not so much that your face turns red. if your handy with a drill or hacksaw you could drill a 1mm hole in the skirt or saw a slot in it.

Thanks. Just to be sure, is the draw light when not attached to a battery? If it is not, your idea sounds just the job. If its tight with no battery then I doubt they would suit me.

there is a very slight resistance when you draw without a battery attached. imo the draw is about a medium but i would take the time to alter if i needed to as they are worth the effort. (so far)

I got 2 of these arrive 2 days ago , for the first 30 mins all was well , quite impressed but I don't know if it's just the one I'm using but it produces a nice amount of vaper but has a smell and taste of slight burning. Had about 2 1/2 tanks worth atm and it's still there. I'm hoping the other one fairs better.

They look flash and go very nicely on a tornado/ego but not that impressed atm :(

They are getting exceptional reviews over at the gotvapes forum on ECF. I've ordered some, should arrive next week. Users are reporting zero leaks and zero gurgling and some are using them on auto batteries with no issues. They are ego skirted so an adaptor is required for use on other batteries. Really looking forward to next week :-) gotvapes keep saying that a tank or two is needed to burn them in

Im half way thru my second tank around 9hrs of use and so far I've had no probs at all with burnt taste or wicking
but as i said in my op Im in the honeymoon period so here's hoping as i really like them. i do agree they look nice on an ego style battery.

I've had the same experience. Built well , look good & seemed to work when broken in. 24 hours later and I'm getting the burnt taste (and I've only run it on an ego battery so lowish voltages).

Burnt taste usually means a dry wick , but i'm getting loads of vaper which is annoying. if it was weak and wispy I could live with that. Something's burning along with the liquid that shouldn't be, could be a hot-spot on the coil , I've had that before.

Think I'll pop the other one and give that a go.

Chris from Gotvapes did suggest a 'breaking in' period might be necessary and this thread on ECF seems to agree.
Hopefully mine will come on Monday now

I did think that i would need to mod them by adding extra wick or cutting out bigger holes for the wick to do it's thing (like i did in ce2's)
Thankfully i have used out of the box with no probs which is all i want.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let them work. lol

I thought I'd try and revive my stardust by dry burning, etc. The inner squeege seal was loose so i pulled that out, then pulled out the silicone cap to the tube that the coil sits in (the bit with the metal washer in). The coil was a gunky mess and there isn't much wick so inevitably that was gunked as well (and discolouring my juice). Dry burning seemed to clear it pretty well. I put in an extra piece of wick over the top of the original and reassembled. I've been vaping for with it for an hour now and all seems well so far.

Nice bit of info. So you can get inside and dry burn. Sounds interesting. I always use an extra wick on top of my CE2's. Good thing is, even after a very long time and the inner wick is naff I can still change the outer wick.

I have packets of CE2's, but have been using the same one for months and even though I now and then get bored and set up a new one, I always go back to the old one as its set just right. There is definately no deterioration as it still has the same flavour, TH and vapour as a new one. And its not in my mind or confusion over juice, as I make my own ejuice in 200ml batches and only use one flavour, Flavourarts RY4, and I vape at least 7 or 8ml a day.
