LOL. Surprises me that they accepted that as it describes the event, a festival of tossers :giggle:

You must be rich, each category costs many £100,s.

Under British law I believe is still legal to write an idea down on a piece of paper and post it to yourself in a sealed envelope as proof of being the first person to think it.

There's no-way I'd give $149 to some fly-by-night ambulance-chasing US-based Shysters for the dubious (and legally tenuous) right to claim copyright. trademarkia.com are just a bunch of chancers, fleecing foolish self important knob-ends and their vanity driven fantasies...

Laws have changed, you don't even need to post it now or add a copyright sign. Once written down you get copyright automatically, however copyright doesn't cover ideas (patent), names, (Trademark).

Trademarks are not shysters, although, trademarkia.com may well be. You obtain a trademark through the "United states Patent and trademark office" and in the UK the Intellectual property office.

$149 or £140 won't get you much, as it is £200 just to apply to register for just one category. You won't see much change out of £300 for a search, etc, and you don't get that money returned even if the mark is refused.

I hereby rename vapefest

RecTUM

RecreaTional Users Meet

anyone is free to attend a national RecTUM and you will never be charged for coming to the RecTUM

Vapefest could easily become over commercialised and overpriced leading to the meme vapefest = #apefest (you an insert the obvious consonant yourself)

BUT

"RecTUM" does seem to have a ring to it!

Ok, I'll shut up now!
