Hi last few days just can't sleep have changed my flavour e liquid but same strength and same supplier. I have used this one before with no problems, but at the moment just can't put my finger on why i can't sleep and i am tired as hell. My eyes are stinging where i am so tired.
Does vaping stop you sleeping, forgot to say strength is 37mg. I don't vape like i smoked, you know 1 fag=15 drags then 45 minutes later another fag. I more or less vape 1 puff every few minutes so about 15 puffs an hour....ish.
Any thoughts guys
cheers

37 mg is pretty high. I usually cut 36 in half. But it all depends how heavy you were smoking. I've seen some folks switch during the day. they vape as low as 10mg in the evening and 20mg in the morning. i guess the same idea as decaf coffee in the evening.

Like wfx says... could try a lower nic level and see if it helps?

May be wrong but pretty sure nicotine is a stimulant, I have had problems sleeping for years, I used to average about 3-3 1/2 hrs per night, since I started vaping this has got much better, im not saying there is a direct link, its just probably after 10 mths vaping, my general health is so much better that my sleep has improved too

yeah the stimulant thing is interesting. i remember reading nicotine can act either way, even as a depressant in some instances. and we all know the relaxing effect. must be some very complex brain chemistry.

I remember being really stressed with not sleeping, so would lie wide awake and eventually get up for a smoke, and would feel better. But everywhere I read about getting a better sleep lists smoking as a "dont do" prior to sleeping along with caffine etc, not sure if it was because of the nicotine or something else in the cigs tho

If I vape to much in the night it takes me a good hour - 90 mins to fall asleep.

If I take it easy i'm asleep in a few mins

18mg btw

I have increased my nicotine strength from 18mg during the day, to 24mg from 6pm onwards for the last few evenings... I seem to be sleeping better ?

Could try some Montmorency Cherry juice (or one with some in) or any food high in Melatonin towards bedtime.
Having a hot bath or shower can also help as the body cooling afterwards also promotes sleep.
Hope thee get it sorted m8t

It might be you have an over-active bonce? I find sleep difficult too, especially when I'm all excited. This is why you'll often see me trawling around this site at 3/4/5 in the silly mornings! :)

Lower dose juice in the evenings would probable help. It is one of the frequently reported adverse effects of nicotine e.g. sleep disturbance, insomnia, vivid dreams. In the early days of NRT patches there was a 24 hour patch (lower dose) and an 18 hr patch (higher dose), the 18hr patch developed to try and combat the sleep problems whilst giving a higher dose of nicotine and increase the chance of stopping smoking.

If you google some of the NRT products there should be patient information listing the common and rare adverse reactions, for example with losenges I occasionally got hic-ups, something that I have also experienced when vaping (not very often and ususally when I have had some juice on the driptip)

I had the same problem because i vape 36mg but a while ago i asked the same question and someone (Nikkituk) sent me some no nic liquid to try, and it certainly did the trick so now i tend to switch to that a couple of hours before bed time and it is working for me.
