is it possible to have a " you have pm " pop up because i have many times been pm'd and not seen for a while but if we had a pop up then it would be perfect

Great idea as i used to miss a few but every time i get a PM here now i'm alerted as a message is sent to my personal mail telling me i have a message.

It can be done on vBulletin but I'm not sure with IPB..there will be a mod out there somewhere for it, though

Go into your profile and under 'Edit profile',scroll down to 'Notifications'.
Click on that and about a third of the way down the page there is this:
Private Messages
Show inline pop-up when I have new personal messages (latest will be shown)
This way I get the message as soon as it is sent.
Is this what you mean Daz ??
