It seems that every time I crank my LT much past 4.7v I get dreadful heart burn, is it the liquid or the HV?

Too much nic can give you heartburn.

Pixie Juice Menu: Signature juice - Mint Choc Chip Ice Cream. Others: Blackcurrant Ice. Double Mint, Vanilla Ice Cream. Still tweaking more.
Berry Chewits Berry Chewits is no more thanks to the concentrate recipe being changed by the manufacturers who also didn't indicate this on their website. Thanks for that, not!

My favorite pre-mixed juices: Grizwalds Strawberry Ice Cream. Copper Creek Apricot Danish. Kentucky Vanilla Blend. Kentucky No 7

And I imagine that burnt juice could give you heartburn.
Be nice to your kids they'll choose your nursing home.

The nic and base, quite posibly flavours too, can create more stomach bile and therefore gas/burping which will push it up your esophagus causing heartburn if over done. Add to that the heat of HV and you'll likely worsen it I imagine. So in answer to your question I'd say yes I think. At least it can anyway. I have the same problems with low resistance if I go at it too often. Hope that helps : )

Almost certainly a case of nic. overdose, I can get the same at lower voltages if I puff too much, and/or get the atomiser nice and warm. Hic-ups are another adverse reaction to nicotine you might also experience.

it doesn't really make much sence though because I always vape LR and I can vape up to 10 hours a day when I'm working from home, sometimes more, I'm confused, but not vaping over 4.5 because it honestly does hurt!!

Gopher, if it hurts to vape an LR at 4.5 then I would suggest that you cut the voltage to 3.7.

If you've been vaping LR above 3.7v for 10 hours or more over some time you may find it's had a cumilative effect. A slow down for a short while could be all you need. Otherwise, maybe there's another cause. Food/diet. Sleeping habits. Or juice flavouring perhaps? Only way to find out is to eliminate or add things experimentally until you notice a relevant change.

I've noticed an increase in heartburn since I started vaping 3 weeks ago.
I suffer from a small hiatus hernia anyway, so my 'nightcap' is often a shot of Gaviscon Advanced - and I'm very concious of the things that set the acid reflux off (New York Cheecake at 10pm, a couple of shots of whisky, crawling around on the floor trying to find the Radio Times, puting on a pound or two over my normal 12 stones etc.).
I was a medium/heavy smoker - rollups - and I guess my habit was to always have a rollie on the go...whether it was lit or not - and that seems to be my vaping habit.
I learnt pretty quick that knocking down the nicotine content in the juice was a wise move - but even at 14mg I reckon I could go lower.

I reckon there's also a link to how much air you swallow.
There's no polite way to say this, but since I started vaping I've noticed I'm a lot...well...fartier.
The thing is, as a pro sax player I'm used to getting heartburn after gigs. This is due to increased breathing activity - and because more saliva is produced when blowing a sax I tend to find that I'm swallowing more, and thus swallowing more air. Hence the heartburn.
Just a theory, but it seems to fit.

I'm pretty new to vaping, but I already know that I'm either going to have to modify my technique or find kit that works for the way I vape. I might even start keeping a diary of my juice consumption, to see if I can spot a link.

Cheers,

Steve

I found lowering my nic from 18 to 12mg helped a lot with heartburn.
