Hi all


So i return to my idea of making a mod,

I was wondering if anyone has a link to a simple vv module, obviously the smaller the better. I can solder a display or switch on but i dont want to be soldering loads of wires. Obviously the smaller the better.
I was looking at the kick that is "coming soon" but the prices that are being thrown about are way too much for what i want to spend. The more features the module packs the better but a basic 3.7 to 6v would be fine. As long as it can cope with a 1.5ohm dual coil @6v.

I have an idea for making a mod that would look amazing but, before investigating or making one i want to get the electronics sorted.

The mod will be using one 18650 batt.

Any help would be appreciated guys

You wouldn't get a chip to run 6.0volts @ 1.5ohm duel coil with one 18650 battery. The battery would be the limiting factor, not enough amp/watts

Hi and thanks for the comments so far.

But i am really looking for something that can run a dual coil with a single 18650 batt even if it can not go as high as 6v.

Kalafan that is incredible for the price. I have saved the link as it looks really simple for a future double batt mod.

Edit: removed as suggestion wasn't that great in hindsight. Reliably informed by another forum member (with better knowledge of the subject) that CR123a's taper of too quickly to sustain the power you'r looking for.

I don't know which module you'll need, but 6volts into a dualcoil on a single battery should be possible.
6volts into 1.5ohms will draw 4amps and therefore dissipate 24watts. 24watts would require 6-8 amps from the battery, depending on the state of charge. IMR batteries should be up to the task; i've pulled close to 10 amps from a chinese no-name IMR, so i guess an AW IMR18650 should do the trick.
About the 4amp chip, i have no idea :-)

After careful concideration i have realised that 1.5ohm dual coils at 6v might be a bit too high.

i have actually just ordered 40 2ohm cartomisers so this is what i will be using almost all of the time , So any ideas on just a simple very small vv module for a single 18650. Something like what Kalafan posted but not for a double 18650.

Hi all

What do you think of this as a module for a vv device? other than accessories like switch and led is there anything else i should use with this or can i just bung it in and vape away.

Bung in and vape away. Apart from the size they work well with 2x battery's Still not going to get the duel coil voltage you wanted @2.5amps 3 with heat sink but with short bursts you should be ok. I used one a while ago in an external box and and old 4 amp laptop charger (bit like a pass through) and worked very well but couldn't get used to vaping with a wire (so gave it to a mate and he still using it) Very easy to wire up with no massing with extras like caps and resistors, potentiometers.
Go for it if you have a case in mind.
worth a punt at the price.

One-battery vv mod (step-up) is limited. Works fine with x-mizer over 2.5 ohm... well... as long as the battery can sustain constant voltage..
in my opinion: step-down rulz

been looking at the murata modules for another project..... how goes it with you mate.

Yep with you on that... step down modules all the way far better for a power setup give you pretty much anything you want, with no limits

The module in your link Flub will work, much what I used in my PCC mod http://ukvapers.com/...__fromsearch__1 but you're really wanting 2 x batts in series. If you're gonna add a volts display a good addition would be to use a 3 position switch. First position - display off, second position - voltage setting, third position - battery voltage (a lead straight off the batts).
