Well i fancied trying some of these carts so i got a couple of kangas 1 SR and 1 LR and got a couple of boges again 1SR and 1 LR,ive not tried LR before so i didnt know what to expect,For a start i didnt like the boges at all i initially filled them using the condom method blew them out let them stand and tried vaping with them the SR was ok but i couldnt stop it gurgling so i blew it out again and again still gurgling so give up and put it to one side,i then tried the LR boge again all i could get was the damn gurgling so i put that to one side,i then tried the kangas filled them the same way as i did the boges tried the SR that was fine good flavour good hit nice i then tried the LR and it was too much hit and harsh with it .Now heres the best bit well it is for me any way i was going to give up on the boges completly and not bother with the LR kanga just stick to SR carts anyway was sat here this morning playing as you do and thought ill give them all another try well i knew the SR kanga was ok and the only difference between that apart from resistance obviously was the tip i was using i had the standard tip in the SR and i had a ally drip tip in the LR the ally tip was bloody cold when i put it to my lips so ok ill try a normal tip that comes with them not that its going to make any difference though.Well it did totally transformed the LR it was no where near as harsh at the back of my throat was definatly more of a hit than the SR but it wasnt harsh like it was before so i thought ill give the boges another try well i still couldnt get rid of the gurgling i kep on blowing them through and i kept doing it till i got rid of the gurgling and when i did finaly get rid of it they both performed well with the standard tips though no drip tips here now,so which do i prefer, well i like the slightly tighter draw on the kangas they seemed to be slightly easier to top up the centre tube seems slightly proud of the filler so i could just drip down the side and i didnt seem to get any down the centre but as others have said there is a slight taste to them i dont know what it is but its definatly there i dont find it a horrible taste but theres something, the boges if i can stop flooding them then i will use them they work ok im not so keen on the airy draw on the boges but you just need to take a different draw, overall both work well time will tell i suppose but i still cant believe what a difference changing that tip made.

You will get gurgling with the condom filling method, so you should really only use that if you're in a rush and can't leave things to stand for a few hours. If you fill from a bottle normally and leave the Boges upright from a few hours to overnight then there shouldn't be any gurgling and they'll work nicely. If they have become flooded, just keeping your finger on the button for a long time (8+ seconds) and taking many quick short puffs without inhaling will get rid of the gurgle once you've blown out most of the excess liquid. It's a bit of a trial and error thing when it comes to filling them (how much juice and how long to wait depends on viscosity) but they're worth persevering with.

Not being one to lightly discard £1.50's worth of kit, I boiled up one of the Kangers to see if I could get shot of the TCP taste.
Not quite - it's now more of a burnt almond background...which would be fine if I liked burnt almonds...which I don't.

I wonder what would happen if I packed 'em full of brie...

Cheers,

Steve

I like them both. I find the Kangers do have a bit of a TCP taste to start, but it goes away. They make up for it with the huge vapour.

I got a bit miffed with the quality of the Boges for a while, which is why I tried Kangers.

I recently went back to Boge, because our friends in China had an offer on the new Boge XL cartos. Has anybody tried them?
The're longer, but they only seem to take the same amount of liquid; there's a big gap between the top of the filler and the tip.. The quality, however, seems to be back to the Boges of yore, they last a lot longer. Worth a look, I've not had a dud one yet, unlike the other Boges, which would randomly die unexpectedly.

:good:

I managed to improve the Kangers quite a bit - by flushing them out with Grants whisky.
The TCP taste is still there with LF tobacco vanilla, but is effectively masked with Vermillion River's Kentucky vanilla.

I had a closer look at the two cartos - the air holes in the base are rather larger on the Boge. Blocking one of them up with a bit of blue-tak brings the draw closer to that on the Kanger. It still doesn't make the draw as warm as that on the Kanger though.

Cheers,

Steve

Steve the taste thing on the kangas is not to bad for me i recon i can live with it but the draw on the boges is much to airy so ill give the blue tack a try, cheers.

I think LR Kangers are better than LR Boge's if you're using them on an ego or an SD Keyring.

I agree that on the first fill the Boge tastes a little better and the Kanger can taste a bit funny but it's more than made up for by their longevity vapour production and throat hit.

I'm using carto's in an Arry tank on my lava tube mostly and for this set-up I've found the SR (3ohm) Boge cartomiser at 4.7v has the best flavour of any polywool filled cartomiser and lasts a week (about 15-20ml) before the flavour starts to drop off. The Knager's are not so nice in this set-up and don't wick as well.
Apart from being an Ego Maniac I got me a Silver Bullet a Du Bocage a Lava Tube and a Trio Box mod. Oh and my Dad's got a Mikro Pipe Shameless web link http://www.fleetvision.co.uk/

I've found that the LR Kangers lose the weird tastes pretty quickly... well, either that or I just get used to it. I haven't tried the Boges though; my basis for comparison is the V3 cartos from Jacvapour. For me, the excellent warmth and vapour production more than makes up for the initial weirdness in flavour, although it does make me wonder what I'm inhaling when I fire up a new Kanger carto. That said, the V3's also taint the flavour weirdly, just in a different way; I figured it was just a "feature" of cartomizers generally.

I find that if I use one Kanger exclusively with the same juice, I get maybe 4-5 days out of it before it starts to tail off, but then I don't use a carto tank (no issues with the idea, I just loathe the look of them) which would probably prolong their lifespan by an order of magnitude! Next stop will probably be dual-coil cartomisers, and probably a variable voltage Ego battery; apart from anything else, I'm keen to try the Janty puremizers at a higher voltage to see if they deliver the goods!

Well, the 'whisky soak' trick seems to work quite well - and as suggested, the Kangers improve considerably with use.
Comparing a burned in Kanger to a similar Boge shows quite a difference, with the Kanger pulling ahead in terms of vapour, warmth and flavour.

Anything else out there worth a try? I've noted the V3s, and ruled out the CE2s.

Cheers,

Steve

Found Kangers need an extra long soak on initial fill & during use they really need kept wet. Work well in tanks.

I think Boge cartos are better in tanks than the Kanger ones from my experience. I just ordered a load from Healthcabin all in stainless when they had that new year sale.

As a relatively new vaper still going thru the trials and tribulations and a far bit of money. I have tried the Kanger, boge,Hangsen dual coil,Eliq and CE2. Waiting for CE3 to turn up too. Not here to review others but Kanger works for me everytime and still using some from my original set after 6 weeks, washed out in boiling water etc. Have used every 1 of the 5 pack and all work no problems. With the coil at the base I would have expected a cooler vape which is exactly what I get when compared to the boges and having done side by side tests on 3 cartos (kang vs boge) on 3 separate flavours all I get with the boges is a very hot vapour which I find unbearable. What I find difficult with reviews people report hotter vapour from kanger some from boge. So not sure exactly what people experience. With so many battery variants, mods and liquids also difficult to say what works with what. Just to complete I uses Riva 510 (750) with mainly PG/VG (80/20) tobaccos.
Briefly CE2 probably like the boges with atomiser too close to mouth piece too hot, when modded to lift the rubber it worked like a fuel injector but overpowering, Hangsen DC nice mellow vape - crackles too much, Eliq should be called Eleak.
Kanger Horizontal coil for me - for the time being.

I always pick Boge over Kanger due to the TCPish taste I get on a Kanger. I have however; just been testing the IKV cartos the Safercigs are selling. They out perform Boge cartos by quite a way imho :whoohoo:

I have to agree with steve ,i cant really fault the kangas at all so much so i passed my other boges on the boges work but not to my liking the kangas they just work and work well as far as im concerned,i know everybodys different but i say what works for you is what matters.
