Hi all,
Got fed up scratching my black chrome, it aint chrome, provari and decided to sandblast it to give a sandart, like the cube finish. I took it all apart, which was rather easy for the cost of it,and removed the gubbings and screen and button. Used a really fine grit and blasted the chrome off, which flew off very easily. Gives a lovely tactile feel and wont sctatch as easy

never looked like a ladies handbag buzzer to me - mine's a toothbrush and it only goes off in the middle of interviews anyway ............!

By the way not sure why it looks gold, must be the flash on my phone! Although I might take it apart again and heat with a blow torch to turn the stainless golden mmmmmm

What glue did you use to secure the electronic board?

No glue! It slides into two slots. Mine had two spring connectors to make contact with the top cap. A blob of silicone would work if you needed it.

Mine has wires...

Mine had two pins instead of wires, mine may have been older version as bought second hand. I would use clear silicone to hold the board in the slots as it will be strong enough and can easily be removed if needed. What was yours held in with?

Silicone...but didn't have around and i used some double sided tape.
Anyway, good work and i think this will be my next finish...until then i'll stick with the SS finish.

Very nice job there Pancho mate. I wish Provari would offer more durable finishes like yours and SS. Mine used to be black chrome, but it scratches up too easily for a daily use mod.

I saw someone over on ECF had sandblasted their GGTS. Now that looked nice!

Have you considered offering your services?

Thinking about it! Not sure on cost with the postage and wether people could send me the tube or the whole mod.
