Hi

I need to buy 18650 and smaller batteries and a charger. My main concern is safety.

I understand that batteries should ideally not be charged overnight but I expect I will need to do that now and then.

With 2 kids in the house I want my batteries and charging system to be as safe as possible - I am getting hold of a Don soon and therefore need to know if AW protected are the best bet?

Also what charger is up to the job and offers good safety features please?

I put safety above cost so I will be very grateful for any advice. I am ordering later tonight ready for when my mod arrives :-)

I'm also planning on getting one of those battery charging fire proof bags or is this not really required?

many thanks all..

Protected batteries are a good choice AW are good, I use yezl, I know I probably shouldn't but I leave mine on charge over nite with no problems, a lipo charging sack is good for your peace of mind but overkill IMHO, but if it makes you feel safer then go for it.

Ps I've got the Don too, it's a great mod :-)

If you worried about safety then IMR batteries the way to go and AW orange ones a good bet? No risk of explosion or venting :-)

The best charger IMO is the Pila one? If u just do a google search the results speak for themselves ;-)

safety is critical in this application. very good advice there. AW IMR and Pila. I picked up both from lighthound.com, but I'm sure there are many other vendors.

You don't have the best name for giving advice on safety. The last blow up doll my Uncle Ernie bought off you shot out of his bedroom window making farting noises, and landed on the church steps, and you offered no refunds! :alien:

I will give a +1 to Genuine AW IMR Cells and use them in my own Don.

I am a fan of the Soshine Chargers (you would need the Soshine SC-S1) which is a 4 bay rapid charger capable of charging almost any ecig sized cell you can throw at it.

In a recent communication with AW - I asked the question on recommended charger for the AW IMR cells and he said either Pila or Soshine.

I hope this helps :)

Hey

Many thanks everyone for the advice - I missed the advice before I ordered and therefore have ordered AW Protected (not the IMR) and a Trustfire TR 003

A noobs enthusiasm eh

But all your advice has been taken onboard and all future batteries I buy will be IMR

I'll save a little and get the Pila/Soshine and in the meantime just charge my batteries during the day when I can keep an eye on them.

Appreciate your replies!
