That's right tatty, and it's supposed to work as a heatsink also, to help dissapate the heat of the atty...

Haven't tried one of Daz's yet, but I've been using Empire and Avid drip shields for a long tie now and would say (with caution) that they DO increase the life of your atomisers. I think with 901s they are a must.

will these fit an i06?

They will only fit by using the plastic tube that comes with the io6 - it needs to be cut down to fit the shield, leaving enough space at the top to fit the drip tip. I tried it, but since, as easy has said on another thread, the draw on the io6 is quite tight, adding the drip shield only makes it tighter and so, for me anyway, virtually unuseable, even with an extra hole drilled in the DS which didn't seem to make any difference :(

Are all of the I06's a tight draw ?... I bought an Ikenvape 501, and the draw on that was so tight to be unusable, until I flushed with boiling water and burned it dry. It is just about right for me now, and vaping well, as I do prefer a tight-ish draw anyhow... I wondered if I had a duffer, and whether the I06's vary also ?

It tightens a lot again if I use VG... I tried it originally with PG... so find a PG/VG 70/30 blend is the most VG it will take.

Alan.

prof - are the empires the same length as a 901 atty, and would you say they affect the draw a lot or minimally? I like the fact that Daz's shields are an exact match, but I don't much care for the tighter draw, so am thinking of trying an empire to see if there's any difference. And also: Happy Birthday! :)

And sorry easy, forgot to say first time: great review. I agree they look great with an ego, I like the fact you can slide them all the way down to cover the top part of the connection.

Drip shields all tighten the draw to some extent. The Empires have two draw holes like Daz's and are just a littl shorter than the length of a 901 atty. Avid do shields with 4 holes which will given a looser draw.

I have IKV 510 that is OK, but I might try boiling and burning to see if it gets any better. I had a couple of i06s and both were a bit tight for me. Could be the attys that vary or, more likely, just the sucking powers of UKV members :)

Don't believe so Tim... I use a strip of tape to cover three of the breather holes on the VGo and 50mm cartomisers to tighten the airy draw on those, so have plenty of..................... suck... :) ... had hollow cheeks when I first tried the Ikenvape 510.

Alan.
