I can't get mine to wick at all unless i leave the flappy filler cap open
Which sort of defeats the object

One of mine came like that. It's a dud. The other one works fine.
Problem is: opened a warranty ticket 4 days ago and still not even an e-mail about it :/

this doesn't come as a surprise. I've heard that the customer service is piss poor
im putting it down to another good idea that doesn't live up to the hype

I'll swap thee a manual for an auto - for a trial at least if thee want to drop me a PM?
:balanced:

Thank you! I will do that very thing

Anyway, I've updated the review; sorry it has taken a while! There are a couple of updates to the main body of the text and a "Three Days On" section at the bottom :)

I've still had no response from janty on my failed battery! Im going to try a manual battery before i right it off completely as the purimizer is great on the don. So i can only assume its the autobatt that lets it down a bit and i want to get back to some kuwako action!

Here's a tip from Janty's Own Mik Dahl regarding puromizers with worse wicking:

Quote

If this is on the auto battery, try removing the silicone ring covering the LED at the bottom and problem should be solved. We are looking into a possible solution for this. Mind you, that im not saying the autos are defective, just that in cases like you are describing, this will alleviate the problem.

When i use the auto battery in my kuwako, i remove that ring, and it really makes a big difference.

We'll see how well I do with my ticket; one of my puremizers just this minute died completely. Half-full, never been allowed to run dry, battery fully-charged... it just "stopped". Am I glad I ordered a spare along with the kit? Why yes, yes I am.

EDIT: Looks like there's a time limit beyond which you're not allowed to edit your posts... or at least, that's my theory, 'cos I'm not getting an edit button on the thread starter any more. Which means, of course, that I can't update the original post with this new information :(

Heheh... thanks! Well, I guess my previous post in the thread says it all really; I've raised a warranty request ticket with Janty over the suddenly-dead puremizer, we'll just have to see how it goes. :)

Oo, really? Was she using a 3.7v 18650 battery, or was she stacking smaller batteries for a higher voltage?

Using an AW 2600mAh 18650 - regulated to 3.3 or 3.5V apparently! Actually like the button too!

My autobatt has now decided to work only with regular cartos and my purmizer works on everything except the neo batt it was designed for! Must be a centre pin issue but this has got me baffled...grrrr

Well my puromizor and ring and recorder tip all arrived today finally yeaaaaaaa.First impressions were its not bad the mouth tip is well terrible to say the least i feel like im sucking on a small childs recorder.Does anyone else have some kinda funky taste ??I found if i did as i think digi said open the flap and it taste much better? But not bad i spose as a overall first day with mine done in 2 tanks worth now between me and the gf and yea not bad i spose just the fact of leaving the flap open kinda seems odd tho.

Lol yeah that tip is kinda weird ! Yeah mine tasted bad at first too. I put it down to the ridiculous amount of primer they put in there! Tastes fine now.

I actually like the mouthpiece :)
Can bite it with no problems, and feels comfy. Also sort of "complements" the Kuwako in a nice way.

Ridiculous amount of primer in these things, yes. Even Mik Dahl from Janty has stated they'll have to revise that at their manufacturing facilities.

I do think they have some serious QC issues though.
Have 3 puromizers at this time - 2 originals and a replacement.
Of the 2 originals, one doesn't work properly and gives burn taste every time, and the other works sort of ok - if I "force it" a bit more, I can get burn taste easily.
The replacement is the best unit - It's great - no burn taste issues no matter how I vape it.
So, 3 units and they are all completely different. That's not a very good sign for consistency.
Hope they can sort out these issues.

Opening the flap will give better wicking and th and taste every time, but will also lead to leaking, gurgling and the likes. The perfect pressure balance seems not easy to achieve.

Another issue with the kits: the auto switches. They are simply not consistent at all. One time they are working great, the next they don't fire at all and you have to fiddle with them a bit, thaw a couple of hard draws or something like that. Not nice when you take a draw and end up with nothing more than air.

I just bought the battery from Janty EU in Der Nedderlands. Works a treat, it's the best auto battery I've used. I think Toby's foolish not to stock them at iVapour...
