I have had dry skin and I mean really dry like flaky bits on the side of nose right up in the corner next to my eyes on the side of my head where my sideys are and also on my top lip but I keep a bit of a beard so that's never clean shaven and the flaky bits were getting caught in the tash (hellooo ladies!!) and it was incredibly itchy at times especially on the sideburns...The scratching only made it go red and even more itchy...I was vaping 80/20 pgvg or 70/30 pgvg chinese bulk range 25mg nic from LF...mixed to around 18mg with boots vg and LF pg...using F'arts and PA flavourings...It was awful I would have to really scrub at my beard to get the flaky bits out again making red and sore and it would come back every morning especially after a heavy vape the night before..I used the wife's moisturiser on my face and that made it better short term but I needed two applications to make my whole face feel normal again....Right so then what happened!..Well I've been exclusive with El Toro for two weeks and all of the above symptoms have gone away completely....I dont know if its the more natural ingredients or the fact that its 50 50 pg or what but my skin is back to normal...And I dont feel like half Lizard half man anymore...Hope this helps :)

Might be sensitive to PG Robert.

How long ago did you stop smoking tobacco? I only ask, as it's fairly common for people to go through a period of bad skin after throwing the fags, while the toxins are leeching from your body...one of the main routes toxins take outta your body is through your skin.

Wonder if the Chinese liquid in a 50/50 mix would give you grief or not.

I quit the fags in october last year and towards the end I only smoked about 7 ML's a day.But to be honest I cant really pinpoint when the dry skin first started appearing as I wasn't making the connection between the two..I am more than happy on the El Toro for now but when I do fancy mixing my own again in the future I will err on the side of VG..Cheers

I too got the dry skin bad and still get it a little now... mostly at the sides of my head. Was actually my hairdresser who spotted it first.. and I felt so embarressed. First thing that would spring to mind is "dandruff".. but it was actually my hairdresser who told me that it can come down to stress. Hit me straight away that I did feel a little more anxious after quitting cigs. Told him I had quit cigs, and he said "thats the cause then. Change in how the body is operating and all the bad stuff is coming through the skin"
He recommended a product called "Bay Rum" from Boots. Put a little on after a shower and let it dry out. Worked a treat. Dead skin all gone!

SpikeyChops - cant be what you suggested I cant reach !

Must try that Bay Rum out tho - but while on these products tried Alpecin caffeine shampoo not long after I packed in fags and had loads of spots on back of head which stopped as soon as I stopped using it. Sorry not a vaping side affect but fyi.

I have read VG is very good for moisturising as people use on skin which may explain why El Torro is good but also may point to some biodiesel vg in the chinese stuff - a long shot but I have heard they get it from Dow so a possibility and would be useful if someone could advise properly.

I'm not saying anything because I sometimes feel totally chocked from the nose to the lungs. Is that some allergy? Hmm, but I had that before I started vaping over a year ago. I feel like that right now and it's a drag, I also think it's related to my digestions in some mysterious way and if I see a doctor about it he'll go "that's very complcated, functional dyspepsia (sp?) can't be cured, you can only find a medicine that will make you feel a bit better" and so, while if I happened to have asthma or bronchitis (thank God I don't) they'd act somehow. That kind of thing, I can't say I'm in better shape or I won't get tired so easily because it isn't true and actually I do believe it's digestion related, so vaping didn't do that much for me except in the purely logical sense.

On the other hand the house doesn't smell like tobacco, I don't smell like tobacco, I wake up much less with the felling that my head is torn or something and I haven't got a cough. I guess despite how I may feel probably because of other problems, vaping has been somewhat good to me. I'm not interested in fags anymore, anyway, and I used to smoke a pack and a half daily...

It might be worth trying some nasal steriods.
I had a bout of stuffiness last year - most likely due to a mild allergy that flared up - and found that even a half-dose of the steriod spray made a huge difference.

As for the digestion, I suffer from problems there too - and yes, it's more or less a case of finding a medicine that eases it (yay for Gaviscon!). It's worth being careful about what you vape too, as some juices (such as mint and menthol) can aggravate it...as can too much nicotine (and caffeine...and alcohol...i.e. all the good things in life!).

Cheers,

Steve

I'll check out those steroids (true, I alwaus hear of steroids as something very bad) and Gaviscon you mention. Names may change according to countries (thinking of the Gaviscon) but still... I'm taking Cinet and Omeprazol but they don't seem to make much difference. Nicotine, alright. Caffeine, well, three cups a day, is that too much? Alcohol, lately I haven't felt much like drinking, not usually, even though I used to always have a glass of red wine at dinner and the occasional whisky (just a bit). Thanks for the advice!

I was on Lanzoprozole for a while. Very effective (it's a Proton Pump Inhibitor) but I found it made my muscles tired, for some reason.
So I lost a bit of weight, which really helped, and switched to using Gaviscon Advanced - which is the most effective version of their products.

Three coffees a day shouldn't be a problem...I do reasonably well on about three pints of tea...and the odd finger of whisky.

Cheers,

Steve
