Not sure if Platinum Ice is a 'brand' name or the actual name of the nicotine liquid product but what I'm interested in is whether any of you factor in the diluent thats used in your nicotine base.

How much of the base is nicotine by volume % and how much is the diluent? Obviously dependant upon nicotine mg/ml but lets say 100mg/ml for easy calculations.

Platinum Ice is 54mg of nicotine per 1ml or expressed in percentage terms 5.4%

That seems to tie in with what I've read but it just seems so conveniently wrong that 1ml of pure raw nicotine (assuming it came in a liquid form) would then weigh exactly 1 gram.

So the meat of the question, do you factor in the 95% PG/VG/PEG base (Platinum Ice) when making a final PG/VG mix solution or do you play it by ear. I know I'm being pretty anal about it at this point :)

I tend not to factor those numbers in.

I make a rough 50/50 mix using 12ml of 54mg Platinum Ice. 5% of 12ml = 0.6ml - not really worth factoring in to my 48ml mix really.

Edit - I end up with approx 13.5mg strength :)

Nicotine weighs 1.01g/cc! It is indeed convenient.

If you get a good juice calculator like 'eJuice Me Up' then you can say what the
base used to dilute your nicotine is and it will factor this into your calculations.
The program in question even lets you specify the base for your flavours!

I keep it very simple.

I mix the 30ml bottle of 54mg Platinum Ice with 60ml of PG, this gives me a 18mg base.

When mixing I use a 30ml bottle, I put 15ml of my base in, add 3ml flavouring (10%) and top up with PG. This gives me a 9mg final liquid which is what I use.

The final result may be slightly more or less than exactly 9mg but I don't think small differences really matter that much.

Cheaper to buy from the DV site http://dv.gostorego....inum-ice-1.html

Or wait on a yoyo and stock up

If you want a titchy size of such a weak strength it's about £3 at nicvape http://www.nicvape.c...f-50-mg-ml.aspx
Or for 250 ml of 75mg it's $55 (about £32 including post http://www.nicvape.c...f-75-mg-ml.aspx

I've never bought it at that price tbh. Last lot I got in the yoyo - £32 for 90ml was 60% off :)

And now DV sells 100ml for £35.

Not the cheapest out there, but have tried a few nic bases & P Ice seems to do it for me.

I stocked up on platinum ice in the last yoyo sale, got enough to last over a year. It's the best liquid base I've used, nice and clear taste
