Has anyone used the ego electronics with the 5 click button protection?

I bought some in Poland, wanted to use them in a mod with a Imr 18350 battery, but it won´t work with the batteries. Then I tried with different type batteries. 18650 and the blue 14500 (think it is Trustfire) Worked with the 18650, and sometimes with the 14500. It seems to work well, but when I put on a carto, the button flashes 3 times and stops working. If I unscrew the carto a bit, it flashes 3 times again and works. I have also tried the ego electronics from Liberty flights, and have not had any problems with those. They don´t have the 5 click protection.

Does anyone know what the problem is? Could it have something to do with the protection in the batteries?

Hi

I got the EGO 18560 and when i tried using dual coil dct on it i got the three flashing lights, I replced the electronics from a plain old 900mah ego batt and it works perfectly, even with the 1.25ohm carto's.
In don't think the 5click ones actually allow the current through that is needed for anything that is 1.5ohm or over.

Same here they don't like imr batteries.

I think I have read something about the ego electronics having some kind of protection, so that you can use unprotected batteries. Do you know if that is correct or should I simply just wait until LF has them in stock again? Since they are sold out right now, it would be nice and easy to just order different batteries...

I use liberty flights ego electronics in my pipes and they work fine for dcc's and imr batteries but i bought 15 5 clicks from juice whore in australia and i cant get them to work with imr batteries.
thing that worries me is that i dont think anyone sells the normal ego switches anymore they will all be the 5 click jobbies.

In answer to your question im pretty sure that the protection is in the ego switch as when it reaches the 4.2v it will shut off charging and imr batteries are unprotected as they are safe chemistry.

Your ok for a while i bought the last 30 from liberty flights a couple of weeks ago (yes its my fault lol).

3 flashes indicate something shorting on the battery. I use the one bought in PL, too and got it tested thorougly

5 ckicks electronic is usualy in conflict with protected battery module

in many case the problem is the mosfet transistor on the electronic module
replacing mosfet with another quality and high performance mosfet probably is the best solution

in some cases, work this trick: put charger at mod with off-function activated (press 5 times button before attached charger at mod)

I bought 15 of the 5 clicks in Poland, and it would really be a downer if I can´t use them...

I`m using the supplied 600mAh and 900mAh. First works for about a day, the other for about a day and a half. I vape MOST of the day
