Hi, just received my 510 t starter kit this afternoon, had to wait three weeks because of backlog at post office. Anyhow need some advice as im not sure if it is working properly.
The kit came with 5 cartridges that i thought were supposed to be empty, but after further examination it is apparent that there is some clear liquid in all of them. So i set it up and started toking; there was vapour but it did not taste too good and after say 20-30 tokes the cartridge sarted getting condensation and was empty. Im not sure what the flavour was but it was more like a burning taste than a nice smoke.
Anyhow now im thinking that the liquid already in the cartridge is there to dilute my bottled liquid which im supposed to top up the cartridge with, is this right?
And also; what end of the cartridge are you supposed to top up at, the mouthpiece end or the other end that goes into the carto.
So really im baffled as to what this liquid already in the packaged cartridges is, im sure it has no flavour, or if it has its very weak; am i doing something wrong ?
Thanks for any help comrades

Hi,
I had the same problem with my tank kit. The tanks are likly to be filled with some juice or other. ( mine were a horrible tobaco) but you do get used to it. You fill them from the bottom (tank end) by poping off the cap and just dropping in a bit of liquid.
I found that standing up the kit in between using it helped gravity wick the liquid and stop the burning taste.
I must admit I did give up on the tanks and now use a cartomiser on the battery instead but a couple of friends still use them and are happy as larry.
not much help I know but its all I have
best of luck

Thanks for the response, looks like the "empty cartriges" are not empty after all. Well been playing with it for an hour or so and realise that the liquid in the tank went pretty quick, i have since refilled it once and that too seems to be diminishing quickly aswell. Do you suppose im right in thinking that when you first set it up the juice quickly soaks into the wick in the cartomiser. And another gripe just for the hell of it, im now using Winston flavour and that dont taste to good either but maybe its just mixed with the horrible pre filled stuff still. Im thinking ahead a bit but i expect that if your using different juices in the same cartridges then the mixing will alter the taste.

I didn't get any prefilled tanks with my 510-t stuff but the atties did come with primer fluid on, and that stuff tastes foul and burny. If there was any sign of liquid in the atties, rinse and blow those out completely before you start using them. Also, if the tanks are filled with something, that doesn't mean you have to vape it. You can just rinse those out too and put in whichever liquid you'd prefer.
I had no wicking/burning problems once the atties were cleaned of primer fluid, but they did begin to clog up after about a week's use.
Mixing flavours, especially in tanks, will blend them together and usually makes them taste a bit weird. Normal warm tap water will do to rinse them out once you've popped the cap off, and then you can twist up a tissue and dry them out before putting the new stuff in.

capnhack summed that up perfectly, wish I had known before I binned two really burnt tasting atty's.
I did though eventually enjoy the taste of the prefilld tanks. It's a shame you cant buy it in bottles. so I would give it a go before you through it away.

The liquid could have been primer fluid then i suppose but how would that be different from any other fluid. Anyhow been sitting here for about an hour or two now toking. Its not the same as smoking though is it. One thing ive noticed is a sort of gurgling sound when the liquid in the tank is low suppose that could mean its needs topping up. Is it usual that a new atomiser will soak up about 2 tanks worth of fluid,

your quite rite in saying it isnt the same as smoking. I have gone from about 30 roll ups a day down to 5 or less.
I thought I would struggle outside work where I could smoke where I wanted but its the oposite. once i'm home I dont touch a cig.
It's the only thing i'v tried that helped me cut down and stay down.
Keep it up and once you have found a flavour juice you really like you will find you hardly want a cig anymore, or even better never again.

Your not wrong about that, even though im complaining i havent yet smoked a rollie since this afternoon, so somethings right (or wrong). Not too keen on the tobacco flavours thou, although the cinnamints, not too bad.

I've seen some people say the primer fluid is just straight PG, but that doesn't correlate with my experiences. It's horrid bitter stuff with an oily feel to it and it has an effect on your tongue similar to pop rocks or the fluid that builds up in blisters (don't ask). Anyway, its wrong and should be removed to as great an extent as possible.
Vaping is not at all like smoking, and that's a good thing if you ask most people here. Over time you'll probably come to enjoy it far more than smoking and the other stuff like the lower cost, variety of flavours, lack of tar, lack of smell, etc are just added bonuses that make it even better.
Your atty liquid usage does sound really high, but that may be because you're vaping as you smoked. Try with a longer, slower, more gentle draw on the ecig and you may see a reduction in liquid usage, less burnt taste, and a more pleasurable amount of flavour.
