Now the venue has been contacted, it would be good to know your availability and certainty of attendance.

Those attending need to call to book in asap and full payment is required 4 weeks in advance (24th sept.)

Guys and Gals, please dont be put off by news of bans etc., it wont make any difference at all to Vapefest.

Our last meet up in York, was all about 'Learning & Socialising'

Yes we discussed bans and how that would affect us as Vapers as well as how it would affect our Suppliers.

No doubt this will be one of the main discussions held at Vapefest, so your attendance is very important, so please do try and be there in order to protect our new healthier alternative.

Its also an opportunity of seeing and inspecting other devices (yes, we expect you to bring your stash of ecigs along) which is an opportunity we seldom have prior to purchase.

Some Suppliers will be there, so again, an opportunity to speak to them and learn about all they sell.

And most importantly we get to know one another and become firm friends with an interest in common.

So what are you waiting for? get your name on the list and join us !

I will probably not be able to attend.

I have no money to pay for the room immediately and certainly not without a room buddie, and really have no idea what the coming months have in store.

If we have to do this now, then unfortunately I need to say no, BUT will help and support and advise on organising etc... if I am needed.

I'm in the same boat Alice (money wise, or rather lack of) - wish I was rich then I'd pay for us all! And it really wouldn't be the same without you...

I mentioned this in chat the other night - under heavy protest from me Cass (being the total sweetheart that she is) was going to try and wangle something with the hotel to get me a free room if we had enough numbers. I don't see that happening now being honest, and in a way I'm relieved because I'd feel guilty going for free when there are other folk who deserve to be there just as much and can't afford it.

I wonder how many others have a problem with the amount of cash / timescale involved?

If you skip Friday night it would cost you and your room mate £45 (£22.50 each) for a standard twin bed room for one night. Granted there's no brekkie included, and no dinner or unlimited booze - but maybe that's a good thing! I'm considering this option myself as I think I'm probably working on Friday and would rather travel first thing the next day. I might pay for dinner on Saturday evening, but other than that I think I'd rather sample the culinary delights of the local environs - I don't want to spend the whole weekend cooped up in a hotel, no matter how nice it is.

If you still can't afford it I could always pretend to pick you up in the bar and sneak you into my room

That sounds like a much more viable option for me too Jaded.... 45 quid for the Saturday night would be much more affordable for me and hubby.

As you say, food can be had from outside the hotel (it's probably cheaper anyway).

I gather we will need as many as possible to go for the original deal though, in order to secure the conference room for the Saturday and Sunday.

Well it doesn't look too good for the fest at the moment to be honest (Yes, definitely option showing 4 ) I hope more are going to attend.

Anyone know what numbers are attending from other places/forums? is it early days? I hope so...............

It hasn't really been widely advertised yet, because obviously to advertise something you need solid details first (like where and when, and cost).

I think until we know what we're doing for sure (1 or 2 days or the Friday being optional) we won't get that much input from outside the forum.

You're 200% right.

If we get a confirmed OK from the Motel on the Saturday/Sunday option it'll be so much easier to pitch. Cheaper, more attractive and more viable for the drones (like me) who work a five day week.

Then we can start to make logos (always adds an air of superficial credibility), banners and so on, and start pimping the event around the forums – I, for one, am looking forward to getting my spam posts removed!

Im gonna drive up from london sat morning (60miles) and come home sat night (or sunday)depending on whats going to be different on each day. (can take 2 peeps if needed(only got a van)

It's about 140 miles for me each way which is fairly ordinary in my terms, but I'd rather not do one way on a Friday. It's a matter of how busy I am and how nuts the week before is.

If I stop over thenit will only be the Saturday.

I will come along on the Friday afternoon/eve with my wife do i just need to book direct with the hotel ? Is there anything i need to know when making the booking ? Am I right in thinking that the room rate for each night is £79.00 for both of us

yes you are right it is 79gbp for 2 for one night...and double obviously for 2 for 2 nights )

you need to say you are with "vapefest" to get the special offer...it needs to be "booked" asap and then paid for in full4 weeks beforehand...hope this helps ) oh and yes, you need to call the hotel to do so...as for me and cat to book for all would be a nightmare...

i am getting clarification on what amount booking may entail and final date to do so....also a few other loose ends to be discussed but thats the story so far : o)
