I have now booked - online, as it happens, not that they recognise the vapefest thing there... but, never mind, I am booked in....

seeing as how I'm out of the country for three weeks starting tomorrow, I thought I'd better...

E-cigs are not "quit smoking" devices - they are an alternative way to smoke, but with a much reduced risk profile. Believe this - it's true. E-cig users are NOT quitters.

I hope not too many do it that way though - we need to make up numbers in order to get the free conference room I imagine.

Not having a go Dave, just saying.... :)

The original 'drink them dry' deal no longer exists :(

This means from our point of view that friday is a no go area - It'd be a waste of money.

£45 per couple for the room only on saturday night seems like the only sensible option for us. The extra £34 could then be put to better use in the Bar

I just need to book it now - BUT we will definitely be there on saturday-sunday :D

This seems to have got so confusing.

The original deal does exist, if you all recall, right back at the beginning, they stated quite clearly that they could not turn the entire hotel over to a large booking taking advantage of a special deal, hence the offer was capped to a maximum of 6 couples.

So as not to disappoint us, they agreed to offer us free beer or caraffe of wine with our evening meals, which I posted on the forums, and was accepted as still being a good offer.

It was at this point that Peter offered to go and see them personally in order to try and get a little more from them, sadly he was unable to do that, for whatever reason.

However, the main reason we decided to go with the Friday to Sunday arrangement, was for the sake of those who had to travel several hundred miles. It was unfair to expect them to get up at dawn to travel such distances.

Absolutely Cat, I'm sure some will stay both nights for that very reason.

I just simply couldn't afford 2 nights, but will be there as early as I can be on the Saturday.

I guess it's time we started to advertise this then?

I live about 20 mins from the venue so I won't be booking into the hotel but I'll be able to come along Sat afternoon/eve, and maybe Sun depending on what's planned. Can't do Fri as I'm working a nightshift and I'll be grabbing some sleep on the Sat morning.

To save confusion I've locked most of the threads pertaining to the old venue.

As people can change their votes on the poll though shall I leave this one alone or do we need a new poll? :)

I dont think we need that Poll any longer Jackie, as we have left the decision of one or two nights to the individuals.

I will be there for Saturday and Sunday (depending on my hangover) but will arrange my own accommodation (I am quite fussy when it comes to hotels). Is there a charge for attending other than the hotel? If so, who do you pay and how?

When it comes to polls and what not I would recommend you just state "this is the plan" and let people confirm or decline otherwise there is risk people may not attend due to uncertainty.

Jim.

Saturday is the main day, and to attend, no there is no charge. We hope to raise the cash required for the Function Room with raffles and auctions of ecig bits and bobs donated by the various Vendors registered on this site.

The emphasis is on social rather than anything too structured, hence we are not having sit down presentations etc.,

Saturday night, will be truly social, and I am certain very enjoyable.

When we held the first event in York, we imagined that people would want talks, presentations etc., and it just didnt happen, everyone was keen to talk to each other and to Vendors, comparing equipment, trying each others juices, and buying supplies.

But we all left and went home with a sense of having formed a great support network, which to this day is helping each and every one of us.

I am certain that Vapefest will be even better..

If the poll is no longer needed I'll happily close it, just thought it might still be useful to get an idea of numbers, if only from a curiosity angle? :)

If you think it might confuse things further though perhaps it would be better to close the thread.

Tim, the choice is yours, a general invite was put out on both this forum and ECF, and no one from Intellicig, has responded to those invites, other than yourself.

wongers.. Cass is right, just come along..

This Vapefest is not a ticket affair, although we will have to consider tickets for future events.

All EVERYONE will have to do, is sign in on arrival for Health & Safety reasons ( in case of fire, so we have numbers)

details of accommodation are available on the UK Vapefest website, just click the link in my signature.
