No, Jackie, I don't believe so. Sorry but John was, in my opinion, trying to be helpful and I'm surprised how easily this was taken the wrong way.

I agree it was taken a little too personally, but the way the points were put over was perhaps a little too forceful as well and/or could have been worded a little better (it did sound a little patronising). I did say 'borders on' - and the latter part of that sentence most definitely applies to the comments about Kate.

Really my point was, in general, that we'd all get along much better if when we feel a 'rant' aimed at another member coming on, it's perhaps time to step back and take stock before making that post.

Jackie, this is precisely why your forum is so impressive. Your diplomacy does you proud! (Send me your manual, please! LOL)

John you accuse Kate of being abusive but I see some of that in your post too. I also noticed you being what borders on rude to a fairly new member earlier in the thread, so the phrase pot/kettle/black springs to mind a little.

Fair enough... Guilty as charged.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Honestly. It's been nice, excellent, and really I mean that most sincerely. I've had some real fun, lorra laffs, but best of all information, and support, which one cannot ask a forum like this more of. It does what it says on the tin. I hope I made a little useful contribution to the place in my short stay. However, it wasn't always to everyones' taste (note apostrophe!). Well... you can't please everyone, can you?... I don't see myself changing, so I'll never be too popular. Oh, well. It doesn't really matter.

There's no point labouring the point... Yeah... I'm really upset by 'admin', but y'know... tomorrow is another day, and it's probably gonna rain again, especially if you live 'ooooop north'. And the nights are drawing in...

Thanks, Matt fer the flavours, btw! So generous, I really did appreciate that!

Andy... I so loved the crack, it's been the highlight of recent days and weeks...take care, neighbour, as you will (don't get arrested!)!

And Dave, Rusty, et al... adios mis amigos! ;)

Good luck to y'all for Vapefest! Posted Image

But on a private parting note, because I will honestly miss y'all, but there's no point feeling 'unwanted' if you understand me ... Posted Image

If you took from my comments that you were 'unwanted' John, I'm sorry you feel that way. It was not my intention, but I can't help the way you interpret it. Nor am I here to make everyone happy, I'm here to ensure the smooth running of the place. Hell, I've upset people who I consider to be good friends occasionally, but that's the way the cookie crumbles - I don't play favourites. I do what I feel is in the best interests of everyone.

I took (slight) issue with one of your posts...in my mind that does not equals me not wanting you here. It's a forum, there will be disagreements just as there are in the real world. :)

John... howay, man, you cannot leave, man. Hell, this hardly even qualifies as a spat, and there's no way anyone - Kate included, I dare bet - would want to see the back of you.

So, come on - man hug and let's get on, eh?

E-cigs are not "quit smoking" devices - they are an alternative way to smoke, but with a much reduced risk profile. Believe this - it's true. E-cig users are NOT quitters.

Even if I could confirm medical records over the internet I'm not interested. People get paid small fortunes for doing that sort of thing, it's not my job. I'm giving people a place to share anecdotes.

You don't confirm - they do, and then you publish.

And I am a little disheartened that you value factual publishing less than rumour and innuendo. But, it matters little what I say. As ever, you will do precisely what you wish, no matter who it hurts.

No Dave, I'm not a researcher, a scientist or a professional publisher. I have no idea how to verify real illnesses and don't care. You have decided that my page is not what you want, you don't want people to freely say what they think and you want me to censor and be judge and jury. Well you're just not paying me enough for that so forget it.

Hello wolf,

If you have just made the switch for ciggys to vaping then its normal to have flu like symptoms. and its only if your vaping at high temperatures that there could be a cause for concern.

LR parts and high voltage devices run hotter not normal 3.7 volt or lower devices on standard atomizers.

hi am using 501 and tornado but don't know what atomiser. Must say I can breathe again now. Have been on vape for 12 days with no cogs but had about 4 weeks on both before I stopped the cigs completely. Would really hate to go back to cigs as I have mild emphysema.

ok a tornado runs at about 3.7v/4.2 volt, a high volt device runs above 5v and LR means it will simulate running at 5v or higher.

there are some devices that run at 5v,6v,7.2v and its the heat they produce that could be a problem and may i state that it is a "COULD" cause problems.

like i said it normal to have flu like conditions when you stop smoking.

LR attys or catomizers are marked LR and they are not the ones that come in the kit. LR=low resistance

Aye these things are new, so storys like this sounds worse than they are and vaping is far far better than smoking.

No wolf , you don`t sound dumb. This forum is here so you CAN ask questions.
All newcomers to the vapin (sorry Dave, e-smoking ) world are at a bit of a loss. If you don`t ask, you cannot learn.
You will find the people here friendly and only too ready to help you along the way.
Tony.

Hi Wolf

Matt is spot-on. You are using a standard device so I cannot see any possible problems regardless of how you use it, most of us get weird symptoms when we first make the switch nothing to worry about and it will pass.
My case was somewhat different, I've been vaping a good while but my problems started when I started using 6v and LR (6v simulation) in combination with VG. I have to add it's become apparent to me that I also contributed to my symptoms by consistently vaping carts bone dry at these temperatures. I haven't had any recurrence of those symptoms since I stopped vaping at those temperatures and started taking care to keep atty/carto coils wet.

I am done with both 6v/LR and VG, I won't use either of them again but that's just me, I've been put off them like getting food poisoning might put you off pizza. I am not suggesting 6v/LR, VG or even pizza are inherently risky. I am fully convinced they have the capability of producing acrolein (ok, maybe not pizza) if the vaper combines them and then adds recklessness into the mix but with reasonable care they should be absolutely fine.

I have since heard of other people who had similar experiences to mine but we remain firmly in the minority.

Maz, I just want to say 'well done' with that post.

Many people have crossed over to 6v vaping, because with an ecig you can experiment, with a real cigarette, you couldnt.

You got whatever it gave you, end of story..

People will always want to experiment, its how we learn, and thats never going to change.

But we are also, all different, and all have different likes and dislikes, tolerances and intolerances.

I myself had a severe reaction to VG, which I wont harp about, as its unlikely anyone else will have exactly the same response.

Esmoking went through a phase about 8 - 9 months ago, when all those new to it, would blame PG for causing ill effects, and the reason for this was down to a massive amount of posts over at ECF about PG and its side effects, so everyone's hyperchondriac side came out.

These days there are fewer of those kind of posts and as such people are accepting that stopping smoking cigarettes has side effects too.

Our bodies have to cleanse all those toxins out, and that takes time. Even so, its best to seek reassurance from your Practice Nurse or GP. As doing so, will make you feel happier and more condident when seeing the signs of your body healing.

I have been e-smoking for 19 months now, and I still have a list of questions for my GP, which I intend to ask her to find out for me. I cant expect her to know the answer immediately as a Doctor is unlikely to have come across many people who inhale PG and flavouring on a regular basis.
