So I started a new job about 3 months ago, which is coincidentally around the same time as I started vaping. My first 12 weeks were based in a training room with a small group of people, and I was allowed to vape at my desk no problem. When my training was complete I was moved into the main office with another 300 or so people, and was told that the management had no problem with me vaping in the building I couldn't vape because people would complain and it would create an unsavory atmosphere in the office, which on one hand is fair, but on the other hand completely defeats the object of being a vaper as opposed to a smoker.
So i politely argued my case and came to a compromise which means there will always be a meeting room available for me to vape in every day. Pretty cool huh?

Good work Stuart, if more people made steps like this vaping would become much more accepted.

One of my local pub chains "cough sizzler pubs" has just banned vaping, even though i have been vaping happily in it for months no problem. supposedly a letter from head office saying it confuses other customers.

"confuses other customers" LOL!

Maybe they should exclude stupid customers instead of banning vapers. ;)

Yeah. This is the firsttime anything's been said. I do work for a fairly large company and they encourage a "Health and Well-being scheme", so if I have any more problems I'll just tell them they're forcing me to start smoking again haha.

As for pubs, I must've been in 20 different pubs since I started vaping, including some large chains and not one has tried to stop me. Touch wood.

IF it 'confuses other customers' then they should ban cigalikes only and not egos etc

;) was asked by management, what this vaping device is. told them, a vaporizer for nicotin-liquid and also handed out some information sheets about no 2nd hand smoke, no harm, no smell, etc. and since then (5 months ago) even vaping in meetings and literally everywhere is fine.

since now, 3 more vapers are with me. long term smokers who get tired of walking out for a smoke. i also bring my "old" liquid to my desk as a "everyone can refill"
thing. this weeks favourite is the selfmade "crystal menth 18" (menthol crystals, alcohol, 18mg vpg base) in the office.

awesome stories guys, good to see some people can positively encourage vaping, instead of just moaning and trudging out to the smoking area :good:

Thankfully I'm allowed to smoke at my desk - though if anyone complained they would get an earful - everyone seems very tolerant and are just happy I'm off the cigs and don't stink anymore :)

First time our MD saw me vaping he asked nicely (he's a nice guy) what the hell I was doing. I explained, no problems, and he even got me to knock up some links and things so he can try and get his nephew off cigarettes.
Since then I've got 7 or 8 people in the office vaping instead of smoking.
The staff have got used to it, but get a lot of double takes when visitors come in, generally they come over to see what it is and leave enlightened.

Very cool! I think seeing you getting your own VIP treatment for the vaping, might make SOME people cross (you know, the everywhere office trouble makers) but the best thing is, smokers will see this and go hey! he only has to go in the other room whereas we have stand out in the rain and cold ect...So it could turn more people onto the possibility of joining our ranks and your meeting room!

I'd love to get my hands on some of those CAMVIP placards for the pubs to be able to hand out to smokers when they have questions :)

It's really encouraging to see the stories about being accepted as a vaper at work, especially those of you who've managed to get others off the analogues.

Nice job! :)

Sweet, do you have other colleges join you?

Tar, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, arsenic, DDT and the 4992 other dodgy chemicals in cigarettes. Good bye forever. :)

Na. Don't use it anyway, keep getting funny looks so I just go outside with the smokers.

Absolutely fantastic guys. Open minded bosses can play a major role in enforcing a positive attitude towards e-cigs & indoor vape rooms sound a great idea, perfect compromise.

There's a good leaflet over at CAMVIP, although obviously it's aimed more at publicans. See: http://camvip.webs.c...AMVIP_A5_v4.pdf

I used the sheets from IG-ed.org, a german site.
