I found e-cigs on purpose, because I wanted to and because I actually LOOKED for them - I don't remember ever hearing about them and I certainly don't know anyone with one but I got sick and tired of smoking, tried absolutly EVERYTHING else (you name it I've tried it) and went about the search for e-cigs.

Bought a rubbish one off Amazon, found this place for some advice, threw rubbish devise away and got hold of a Halo 501 (thank you Lisa *mwah*) and haven't looked back.

Only vaping 2 weeks but already the VERY proud owner of a SDMK2 and waiting for my Tornado to arrive, busy playing with my first (of many) deliveries including mega accessories and various juices oh and everyone probably already knows I HATE VANILLA!!

I found them through a TV piece on them - BBC Breakfast, some time in 2008 with Jason Cropper talking about them IIRC. Bought my first one (a black DSE901 with a blue LED) from Ebay soon after. Found ECF some time after that, hung around there for a while, and I've continued using them to date.

Two weeks into an attempt to give up, I searched for smoke-free cigarettes and found ecigs, which sounded much better, then headed off to the shops.

I was first made aware of e-cigs while flicking through the TV channels in the early hours hoping to find something to watch to take my mind of the quite severe chest pains I was suffering with at the time. Here I caught an advert for E-Lites. What drew me to it was'nt the girl advertising them, but the blue light at the end every time she took a drag. "I never go anywhere without my E-lites. Thy're my personal best friend" she said. So after Googling E-lites, found out they were electronic cigarettes, and further research led me to purchase a Titan PCC kit.

I first saw them on youtube about 3.5 years ago. Went on ebay, bought a 901 and been using it on and off ever since. I since have bought black and silver 901's and all are great.

My husband has been smoke free since 2004, purely through will power, but he had a really hard time, it took months to get over it. I have been trying since, but nothing seemed to work.

About 4 years ago, must be around 2007 or something, my husband read in a newspaper about the new electronic cigarette and thought it might have been an option for me as I was really struggling to stop. But they were so new & expensive, and I was scared that they weren't safe enough to give them a try, the only info I saw on the internet was "lack of testing", which did put me right off.

So I carried on, lozengers, patches, gum, cold turkey and giving in, ...nothing worked.

My GP did put me on high strength 21mg/24hr patches together with 18X 4mg lozengers a day, this dosage gave me a splitting headache and an upset stomach, that was way too much for me, so I started smoking again.

After New Year, I thought to give the stop-smoking another go, so I started googling for YouTube clips to look at some horrid medical pictures about smoking to get motivated again. What did I find? Lots of Electronic Smoking Videos, so I started looking into it again and here I am today, vaping away without a care in the world!

So as it was a combination of various sources really, I voted "other".

Being utterly late to the party, I actually saw an ecig in a shop. I dismissed it as a piece of junk, and proudly rolled another cigarette (before leaving the shop, heading down the escalator, through the mall and out the doors before I could smoke it...).

Then a guy in work mentioned how he had got them for his wife, and he'd seen an offer in a newspaper.

Did some of my own research of the back of that, as it started to seem like a pretty good idea. Still hopeful that it's going to pan out that way.

So "Other" for me too :)

I got a spam email from one of those dodgy "free" e-cig scammers, read the small print about the monthly payments etc, then decided to research e-cigs further and puchased from a reputable supplier. So in a way the scammers inadvertantley did me a favour, thanks scammers.:party2:

Same here......Bought my 901 from E Bay in December 2008 ,turned out to be Jason, and soon lost interest as I was a baccy addict.
Rekindled my interest a few weeks back and brazenly E mailed HiFiStud ....Don't remember where from...Facebook? Anyway asked him what was new and he said the Tank.
Bought it,very happy and back on the right road....

So it was 'other' for me too.....

Mine is 'other' I suppose.

A computerless neighbour came to me with a cig-alike for charging on my laptop. As a committed smoker I thought it was the silliest thing I had ever seen in my life and laughed like a drain.

Two years later my lungs were so wrecked by smoking that I was short of breath when walking downhill. All of a sudden e-cigs didn't seem so silly after all. I got on the internet and read just about everything that google came up with. Total confusion. Then I found this forum and got the advice I needed. The rest is history. Thanks guys.Posted Image

I got an email offering e-cigs and followed the link only to find that the company that emailed me had no stock anyhow, I then googled and chose skycigs and believed their hype about cartons being equivelant to several packs of ciggys, did the maths and bought it!
I found this site whilst waiting and settled on a Titan which I really like despite short battery life ( I simply carry spares and a pcc case). I also have an Integrity 'box mod' which I use mostly in the car on longer journeys.

Snap.
I bought my first DSE901 from E Bay late 2008 and got cheesed off with filling carts and dwindling batteries.
Reawakened my interest about 6 weeks ago bought a new tank and a 2nd hand Screwdriver and have now given up smoking for about 4 weeks and am a vaper. And very proud.....

Thank you UK Vapers !!!

i first time heard from my team lead when he assigned me a project of electric cigarette to work on it. then i search it from Google and read its detail. i was really amazed that how much this device is interesting and useful especially for the smokers. then i studied it a lot. its really a good innovation .
