I have posted this kind of post quite frequently both here and on ECF, so thought it might be handy.

Brief guide to atomisers

510 - good all rounder for throat hit, vapour and flavour.
901 - better for flavour.
801/302 - somewhere in between the 510 and 901, good on vapour production, but with different sort of airier action...
M series (M301/M601) - also somewhere in between, but many think is better than the 510 in all aspects...
306 - great for flavour and vapour in the LR version, dripping only (the standard resistance version is not so prevalent these days, mainly due to the tiny cartridge capacity).
eGo Tank atomisers - very convenient (in respect to not having to keep topping up, just use the Tank until it runs out, then refill), but quite muted flavour and not particularly great throat hit.

All these will also vary (maybe quite considerably) between brand/manufacturer.

The LR versions of these have greater vapour production and throat hit, but often at expense of flavour (more/less depending on model and resistance).

Thats useful Toby and as someone always keen to try different things if I had a real need for a flavoursome vape without necessarily loads of vapour or 'hit' would a 901 work ok with 1) the Ego and 2) the Woody?

Are their any disadvantages such a value/life?

Not that I know of; the longest I have ever got out of an atomiser would probably be the JOYE-302 (it was the Janty version, which is actually the JKBC-304, made by Joye of course, and I never found out for sure if there is any actual difference between the 302 and 304...), but that might have just been luck, and I can't remember how long it was...

You see, this is another common question for newcomers to ask - "How long does an atomiser last?"
That is such a "how long is a piece of string" question, because in most people's experience, an atomiser could last months; but in reality they start tailing off after a couple of weeks (maybe less), and so people give up on them and put a new one on.

The eGo (and Woody assuming it is 510 thread) will work fine with a 901 with the correct adapter.

I wanted to keep it brief as something a newcomer could digest easily and quickly.

And yes Crossbow, I wasn't intending on doubling up on your thread, just abridging it.. because of course it could be longer and more exhaustive...

but even you didn't mention the everlasting atomizer that takes regular AA batteries and costs less than a multipack of 510s ;)

Mine's been taking intermittently heavy abuse for over a year now, with no loss of performance (though I did only recently find out the thing has a cut-off - 90 seconds LOL! :))

I wasn't asking 'how long does an atomiser last ' Toby, merely does one type (eg 510) have a reputation for lasting longer than another (eg 901) but maybe that was a stupid question

Generally, 901s have a reputation for lasting slightly longer than other types, but I'm not convinced, personally.

Hmm.. Smokering cannon.

What was the idea for vapefest? Catch the vape ring, or is it just for shooting each other?
Equipment list:

Titan/Ego (everyday device)
Variable volt bat box mod
905
808 and PCC (for when something cig shaped required)
18650 torch mod, with adapters for everything (the beast!)
Indulgence
Janty Stick V2 (the backup device)

Interesting: "glycol based non-toxic fog fluid"

If that's aproved for use by children...

Like olfactory paintball - menthol chicken v. ginseng, and the first side to vomit or evacuate the room loses ;)

I did check out the included bottle of "smoke juice" that came with the thing (Purely in the interests of science, you understand,) - it's a really nasty industrial grade of PG they use, and it doesn't taste good.
36mg Parma Violet on the other hand, is a velvet fist of a vape that has much to commend it ;)

I suspect Ginseng might work much like tear gas on a room full of people :p

Yikes, that sounds fierce. I'm not sure if the pub would let us back?
