Didn't mean to implicate anyone - just a general point to those who think there may be some illuminati type ruling class or summat.
And - more people should use chat 'cos it's fun.

What's to know?
Just join and chat
It is very like messenger, and when lots of people join it's chaos
There is the option to have "private" chat too though - like a real-time PM.
If you're interested - late at night is when it's generally busiest

Well Dave, it happened, recently, & I was quite appalled. Thought it to be an oversight, then it happened again a few days ago. I don't to completely submerge myself in this though, just giving a mention which is condusive to the thread.

er, the forum is people talking. People sometimes (often) disagree. Some can handle disagreements, others feel the need to have some else handle them for them. This is no different to real life...
EXCEPT!
in real life folks are a little bit careful how they say things to other people, lest their disagreements end up in hospitalisation. Similarly, they don't butt in, lest they be butted out with prejudice (or just butted). Some wage wars with words, but are careful to appear non confrontational - in the forum world, though, folks can, and often do, wade in with all guns blazing.
With all of that said, though, I much prefer the atmosphere here to the dark side, where it's all so sanitised (sorry, sanitiZed) and sterile theat even the mention of a certain drink can gain you an infraction. AN INFRACTION!!! Jesus!

So where have I butted in where I should have been butted out Dave?
I don't think I have given anything other than an honest opinion here in my posts and certainly not anything that would cause someone to draw my blood.
Guilty conscience??
Why should I have a guilty conscience ?
FFS!!! Smilies, people!!!! Smilies!!

Guys and Gals, I can see everyone's point of view, but, I feel the use of the word 'clique' is wrong with regards to this forum.
Yes there are people who have met and become virtual friends on other forums, and then joined this one, where they had the opportunity to meet and become real friends, which is bound to make them appear to recent members to be a clique.
A clique would want to exclude new people, and none of us here want to do that, we actively encourage new people to join in.
Yes as DaveK says we do have a chat, where several of us have a natter and a giggle, I myself go along when I can and its never failed to cheer me up when I have needed it.
Forums are such dangerous places, reason being the written word can so easily be misunderstood.
I found myself banned from TW's forum, and that happened because I refused to use smilies... I hate the damned things, and a moderator took offence at something I said. Thankfully this is now water under the bridge and has been put right, but I bring it up just to show how careful we all need to be. And possibly some of us may have been guilty of allowing our words to be misunderstood, forgetting that newer members do not know us as well as we know one another.
As Jackie says, you cannot please everyone, but this forum certainly tries to do it.
Check the introductions sub forum, every newcomer is welcomed and questions are answered, so accept the forum for what it is, not perfect, just improving all the time. And yes, its good to hear the points you have all brought up, if no one speaks up and there is a problem, then we cant, as fellow members, improve things.
A forum starts as a few open sections of nothing, where strangers are invited to type and place opinions. Those open sections quickly evolve to a living mass, which on growing becomes harder and harder to control, some get better, some do not. This one, we, the members are responsible for how it is going evolve, so lets get it right..

The chat part is great fun. Also a good place for newbies (like me) to ask questions if maybe you feel a bit daft asking them on the forum for the whole world to see cause you think its a stooopid question. The 'regulars' in the chat part are always willing to break away from any light hearted banter to help with a problem.

In my experience (which hasn't been much in the past couple of weeks admittedly, but previous to that...) it varies a lot and can be quite unpredictable. Best advice is to log in and hang around for 10 mins, see who is about.

NEVER be afraid of stoooopid questions, I ask them all the time, always have, always will lol - I get lots of helpful answers, some of which I dont understand either (especially if they have numbers in em)

Yeah, I often pop in around 7 or 8 or even 9pm, if the need is there, then someone will join you...
And dont worry about slow typing, say what you have to say, and even if the conversation has moved on, people will realise whats happened and answer you.
Its a good way of getting to know everyone and getting to understand some of varied senses of humour you will find around the forum.
