I do get asked this kind of question quite frequently -

Quote

Hi, got the e-cig, thanks v.much.

Is the e-cig is ready to use or do I have to refill it and charge battery?
It is best to fully charge batteries before (much) use.

For best results (best flavour & vapour), keep cartridges as full as possible, topping up with 2-3 drops of e-liquid every 10-20 puffs or so.
(Keep cartomisers full as well, but keeping the wadding very wet, not pooling.)

Think of an atomiser like a mini kettle; the element likes to be kept wet! ... ;)

Enjoy! :)

Well if you're going to say that, why not say - throw your carts/cartos away and drip? If you're going to top up every ten minutes you may as well just drop it on the coil - cut out the middle man...

Because for beginners direct dripping is a difficult concept to grasp initially, i.e. experience is required to know when to add more drops.

And also, when I was using standard 510 atomisers (on the eGo, it was up until they invented LR cartos, so that would be Summer 2010), I still used carts rather than drip. This was because I would quite often forget to add more drops, and then at least you have the back-up liquid in the cart, which would at least still be there, rather than the horrible puff you get if your atomiser gets too dry (so also protecting the atomiser as well). I preferred this way rather than any superior vapour you get from direct dripping...

And cartos you don't need to top up so frequently of course...

Being a cart user (I'm not a fan of dripping), I've always tended to remove the filler with tweezers, refill the empty cart about half-way, put the filler back and top off. I find I don't then need to top off every 10 puffs or so. I also reverse the filler, as the mouth end always seems a bit wetter than the atty end; so this allows the drier end to absorb more liquid than if I didn't reverse it. I find this method lasts a lot longer than just topping off.

I'm not meaning to contradict your method, Toby, just to add how I do it in case it helps :)
