It's been a long while since we heard from Kate.

I know some guys on here are maybe in touch with her, I would love to know her reaction to the news, and I wonder if they might send on our thanks to her too. A LOT of hard work, research and passion was put in by her.
I was thinking the same thing too Alice, not seen Kate around for a long time and i'd love to hear her views on the MHRA decision. I miss her tireless enthusiasm and no bullshit attitude towards these goverment agencies that try to take away our freedoms.
She is a gem, and i hope she's ok :)

I miss the smoking nun :(

Oh the hypocrisy!! It's allright for some to tout their wares as NRT Therapy but not for others!! Then of course places like Amazon get to sell pieces of crap which will only prove to be disappointing to the pour souls who genuinely need an alternative!!

Absolutely - the first person I thought of when I heard the news was Kate. I hope she had a little celebration of her own - she put an enormous amount of work into not only her own response to the consultation but also in 'rallying the troups' as it were, and keeping us all informed, right from the day the news about the consultation broke.

That's not to take anything away from Kath of course, who has, as we all know worked damn hard and no doubt is continuing to do so. But I'll also never forget Kate's dedication either. :)

I agree entirely, Jackie, and you were able to post those thoughts before I could :)

I still miss her too, having "followed" her around wherever she went from the moment I first joined e-cig forums when she was the first to welcome me in her helpful kind way (as she used to do with all newbies), and hope she's somehow able to sneak in here and have a read from time to time.

Either way, it's thanks to the two "Kate's", our smoking nun Kate, and Doodlebug Katherine. Each in their own way has been unstinting in their non-stop and marvellous efforts to help us all.

I am trying to email Kate to let her know - in case she's missed it - and will let you know if/when I get a response.

I couldn't agree more that vapers around the world owe Kate an enormous debt of gratitude. I think it's fair to say that we would most certainly NOT be in this position today were it not for the dedicated hard work Kate contributed at the beginning and for so long.

I hope she's ok, and that she will respond to my email. If I do hear back, then I'll pass on her comments....

Hi peeps. I've just been having a tiny browse to pass some time and saw my name mentioned so it's only polite to drop in and say thanks.

To be honest I'm not really up to date on all the ins and outs of vaping politics at the moment but the MHRA seems to have been temporarily put off which is a good thing in my opinion - the longer ecigs are legal the harder they'll be to stop and more converts will be asking 'why'?. I noticed that big pharma, big tobacco and the health nazi groups all lobbied to have the market closed so that's an obvious clarification of the political position. Only user groups - real stakeholders - stand for freedom of market choice.

Well done everyone, the list of submissions to the MHRA from users was no doubt an important part of hindering the MHRA case. I'm convinced it was the weight of numbers and arguments we are able to bring to them that makes rent seeking legislation difficult.

Katherine from the ECITA also has done well. As a side track, the recent BBC news article about the open corinor's verdict would have been really bad if Katherine's statement hadn't got the last word. That report was mediocre until the whammy at the end when it all turned around. Plently of smokers become interested in ecigs after hearing 'bad' news reports but that one was even better in my opinion, last words matter when summing up a story.

If anyone wants to keep in touch please send me a message here and I'll give you my email addy (vapersnetwork is no more, including my email addy from there).

My absence is nothing to do with personalities or grudges or anything like that if anyone is wondering, it's a long standing mental health problem I have, paranoid schizophrenia. Sometimes the alien invaders manage to get signals past my tin foil hat and I have to do their bidding - anything for an easy life. I'm not really fit to be let out in public when I'm like that though.

Hope you're all well. Congrats again on the MHRA stuff. Happy vaping and loves from me xxx
