Ay Up Everyone,

Following the MHRA decision to leave us alone for a year or so, it presents the vaping community with an exciting challenge. We have a year to promote vaping as a safer alternative to smoking to as many people and organisations as possible so that when the inevitable Governmental or Quango intervention arises again, we are in a much stronger and unified position as the users of electronic cigarettes.

Rolygate from ECF has a slightly different take on this as seen below;

It's about time we formed a UK community group, and luckily we have a good model in the shape of CASAA. The main issues at the moment are to present e-cigarette use optimally to UK media, and to join with other EU groups being formed now, in order to make our views known in Brussels.

This effort is best initiated through the forums, so we should try to join up and move forward. The UK can be represented by those who care enough to become involved and do the work necessary. There will be a fair amount of admin, liaison with media and others in the UK, liaison with other Euro community associations, and ultimately some political work at EU level.

From my point of view I do have experience in this area but do not wish to fill any admin role for personal reasons - there are of course many capable people in the community. ECF will help with whatever resources are needed.

Rolygate and myself are both talking about the same type of organisation. It is one where key players, from the disparate fora, who are passionate about our pastime, come together to represent the vaping community under the umbrella of a Consumers Association. It will involve developing a coordinated approach to spread the word of ecigs to all interested (and should be interested) parties. Money is not important at this stage, just people with some time to devote to the cause, who are willing to be involved in this planning stage.

Tomorrow on Vapourtrails.tv at 9pm, this will be a topic of discussion if anyone wants to tune in.

If anyone wishes to be involved and take the vaping community to the next level, please contact me via pm or post on this thread.

Hope to hear from some of you.

Count me in. Some landlords definitely need to be better informed in these matters , after all it's got to be good for trade if people can vape in pubs without harassment / ignorance being thrust upon them.

I've heard there's a pub in Swindon where the landlord keeps them behind the bar for communal use - I will find out witch one and report back - I'll add it to the vape friendly pubs thread.
