It occurred to me that some research might have been done on the health effects of people who use glycol based smoke machines, so I had a look and found this:

Hopefully it's still better than smoking tobacco.

What do you guys think?

I really don't think we have too much to worry about. The glycols used in theatrical fog machines are industrial grade, not the pharma grade that we use for eliquid, and are likely to contain higher levels of diethylene glycol. We don't tolerate diethylene glycol in our eliquids, despite the fact that there is a tolerably safe low level, and pharma grade PG is GRAS (i.e. Generally Regarded As Safe) so I really don't think you need to worry.

Pharma grade PG has been extensively tested since the 1940s and is used in a vast array of applications, including asthma inhalers, and we are absolutely fine (according to the available evidence) using it in eliquid, except in the occasional cases of allergic reaction. These are not usually too severe, and people are able to switch to VG only liquid without too many problems in the vast majority of cases.

Hello everyone,

As all of us know that smoking traditional tobacco cigarettes cause severe health risks because they contain dangerous materials like glycol, hydrocarbons, carcinogens, and more than 4000 of chemicals. The presence of these chemicals makes them dangerous to smoke. However, now with electronic cigarettes one can have safe smoke because they are free from these disease causing materials and so they are proving to be the best alternate to traditional tobacco cigarettes.
