I have 2 Lines on order so my thinking is that I will save money on cartos/clearos/attys in the long run. I am expecting to spend more on juice though as people say they really go through it.

As for batteries I currently rotate 2 Egos which I bought in Feb I think. I also had a Garry Dibbley 14500 box mod but gave it to someone. Also waiting on a Thundervolt/Lavatube which is really the only battery mod I have been tempted by due to the VV capabilities - I find the other mods very dear when they are just battery holders - except pipes, and I will be ordering a mikrosoft pipe soon.

I find the thing I could spend a lot of cash on is juice and flavouring as there are so many to try.

Mixing my own costs around 10p per ml, 6ml per day x 365 = 2190 ml = £219.

Clearos, bad month = 5 Clearos cost £8.50 12 months = £102.

Bought 4 months supply of shorties off ruinbidder for £18 (so that's a saving on this years allowance already)

so that's £321 on atties and fluids.

smoking duty free bacci and the odd pack of Benson around £20 per week x 52 = just over a grand.

leaves £680 quid for batts and maybe a second mod.??

Think i will be in pocket after the the next 12 month is up ;-). and hopefully in better health also.

I do a lot of online affiliate marketting so was aware of the e-cig's as I've sold quite a few in the US via various methods.
When I saw one in Tesco's I thought, Why Not - let's give it a try. That was on 28th Nov 2011 and I've not had a single fag since.
I didn't start vaping as a money saving exercise, but there's no doubt that I've already saved (or rather not spent) money.
I keep a tally of exactly what I've spent, and a rough tally of what I would have spent on fags.
The would have spent bit is the most difficult. I smoked (roughly) 20 a day, but that could easily raise to 40+ on some days. If I needed fags then I got in the car and went and got some.
Even @20 a day I've saved 50% (ish). I know I've 'not spent' way more than that but I'll work it out from the smaller amount.
From the 10motives, I tried a realis (which a kind gent on here donated) and then onto SDK's. The realis will be being passed on to someone else shortly.
By my reckoning I need the following for vaping:
1. An ordinary all day PV - just got an e-power from these classifieds and I reckon that'll do the job.
2. A out and about PVs - the SDKs will do that very nicely.
3. A good looking PV for when entertaining - quite fancy a silver bullet for that but not yet sure.
Obviously there'll be various liquids, atti's, tanks, cartos etc etc.
I've already accumulated enough prefilled cartos to last me this month, and enough liquid to probably see me through to end of March as well - I won't say that I'll not be buying in the meanwhile though as I search for the perfect flavour.
As things stand, I can't see anyway that I'll spend as much on vaping as I used to spend on fags.

ADDED:
Note, I started vaping without any research at all. I think it was over a month before I even found this forum and found out that cartos could be refilled. Had I done some research first I'm convinced I would have saved even more than I already have.

I know I'm off the fags for good now. After a few heavy nights out (where I would have been taking 40 fags at least each night), and getting through a 3 day conference (with 3 accompanying heavy nights out) without even wanting a fag, I know there's no going back.

I SPENT.
PROVARI + EXTRAS = £200
LAVATUBE= £60
PUFF DADDY + CARTS = £40
BULLI A2 TM = £80
JUICE ( TO MAKE OWN MIX ) = £100
CLOCKWORKS = £70 ( ON LIST )
ODYSSEOUS + UPGRADE = £130 ( WAITING FOR NEXT BATCH )

total = £ 680.00 a lot of money
however i used to spend £100 a week on anologues, as u can see i will be using repairable attys and making my own flavours so it
will only cost me about £7.00 per week in juice when i run dry. + a bit of wire and wick. !
provari ( heir ) lava tube ( spare )
so it will take me 7 weeks to brake even ( and i think its a good setup ) then about a tenner a week

how ever its also a hobby and its saving my life = PRICELESS !

please feel free to poke holes in my maths. LOL

I agree.

Maybe it would make more sense if when buying fags the price tag stated 20 fags for £6 + 3 hours of your life?

Horrible pictures of lungs and possibilities don't really hit home, but maybe counting your mortality would bring the equation into context?
