If he can smell the coffee then he's breathing it in.
If he's worried about your vaping, he should really be concerned about any other sprays or aerosols in the flat. Have you ever read the ingredients on a can of neuradol. Frabreeze, bathroom cleaner, kitchen cleaner, furniture polish, not to mention deodorants and hair products. Compare the ingredients of anyone of those to vaping and vaping really won't look too bad.
OMG furniture polish! - won't somebody please think of the children!!!

You are right about all these things being lung irritants...
I was advised to avoid all you have mentioned, plus wearing perfume and even burning incense as part of my Emphasyma action plan.

The famous (and only) "second hand smoker " death was Roy Castle. Anybody linked trumpet playing to cancer? Thought not. All the second hand smoking rhetoric is scientifically baseless. It is just of the form "doctors say". Doctors say a lot of things and a lot of it is crap. My dad was a doctor and according to him (this was in the 1960's) all the untreatable diseases we had in the UK were caused by immigrants. He had charts to prove it. The only scientific test on second hand smoke was done in the 1930s in Germany where it was found that a mouse continually exposed to cigarette smoke died. After 30 days breathing fag smoke. What a surprise.
Babies are another red herring. Just look at what we feed them nowadays. No breast milk (it might make my boobs floppy) and no mashed up grown up food when they are older. No, they get fed "scientifically" produced food. Wow. Full of chemicals and preservatives. A great start to life. One whiff of fag smoke or nicotine is going to kill them, though. Except what about the the smoke from Dad's barbecue or the bonfire on Firework Night. Or Mum's perfume? They are "scientifically" proven to be harmless?
Why don't people get a life and realise it's not a practice? Since time began there are things out there that are out to get you. Growing up is learning to deal with it, not crying that it's not fair. It isn't.
What would make my life complete is somebody ranting at me for vaping and not noticing the truck that ran them over.

Just to add a little more to your post ( which i agree with SteveMacc )..My missus is in hospital at the mo ..found breast cancer and shes just had a masectomy...( shes doing well ) The meetings that led up to the op were something like this....your options are..have a new boob built by using your own flesh, have a silicon boob put in or have an 'expander put in ( balloon thingy )...ahh...hang on ...you're overweight and have smoked...OK...now your options are ..JUST the expander ( or nothing )...met another woman in the hosp same size as my missus...talking to her shes having a boob built using her own flesh ( different team of doctors )...so we voiced our bit about thanks for the slap in the face, weve heard that if youve ever smoked we aint gonna waste our money on you and now you've just confirmed it.......Missus had the op yesterday....guess what she got....NOTHING.....oh maybe she can have something implanted later when its all healed...hmmm yeah right ...then she'll get slapped with the 'too old' speech.....POLITICS....its shite....yep ok shes still alive which is fantastic...and i suppose she gets to keep the scar for free.

I'm glad to hear your wife's okay, but the rest is just appalling. How dare they treat people that way, especially at a time when they are at their most vulnerable. My thoughts are with you both.

fynger,
That's appalling treatment. You need to complain to the hospital in the first instance. I would also involve the press if I were you.

Hmm, I got back to my flat on a Friday night, and was chatting to my flatmate while having some beers and vaping, and he said something along the lines of: "I can smell it, and if I can smell it I'm inhaling your nicotine. Please stop."
What should I say the next time this happens?
Cheers.

Ask him about the Cyanide in fruits, or the carcinogens floating around in the air he's breathing or off the plastics his food is wrapped inside...ask him if he fancies standing in the road and trying to stop the traffic dumping toxins into the air, then tell him to grow the hell up, move to the forest and live with the little bunnies or go buy a huge plastic bubble to spend the rest of his natural life in.
Maybe he'd prefer you to smoke instead?
Or take Kenny's advice, manic expression on your face, lunge at him screaming 'I KILL YOU ARSE FEATURES!' he might move out, you never know.
@Fynger, that's terrible mate.
What a bunch of Ba*!*&*s.
