As you know I'm having a multiple tooth extraction July 5th, I've always been advised against smoking after surgery but was that because it hindered the healing process or the action itself of smoking (ie drawing in through the mouth) wasn't a good idea following extractions??
I'm worried I shouldn't vape for 24/48 hours afterwards - any ideas??
Vaping after dentistry?

Hello again friend Gopher
I think it depends on how well you heal generally. I was still smoking when I had my extractions and, as I recall, I sparked up approx 5 mins out of the surgery every time (no smoking for 2 days was always going to be a non-starter!).
Never seemed to affect me but I do tend to heal quickly anyway.
I haven't had any surgery since I started vaping but I've had an ulcer or 2 and vape can sting a little bit. Be guided by your dentist and your own body and perhaps take it easier for a while.

I carried on vaping as per normal after my recent multiple extractions Gopher, with no ill effects at all, I also
did the same when smoking post extractions . . . . but then other than a full anesthetic, there's precious
little that would keep me from a nicotine fix.
But we're all different in how our bodies react, so I'd be inclined to be guided by your Dentist's advice, you may not
feel like vaping for a bit anyway . . . . good luck. xxx

lol hi Lil
well I always lit up within 5/10 mins after getting out of the dentist chair myself but I'm having so many extractions at once and it's probably about time I started heeding warnings and taking better care of myself - although it never stopped me before!!
I also heal well generally

Smoke has got all the crap in it so could hinder your healing....Vape on the other hand has no nasties in it so should be ok

I think that vaping VG after extractions maybe better than PG as it is drying.
What dentists are concerned about is probably dry sockets.
This seems to be a good link to read especially the piece about dry sockets:

Having said that I have had quite a few extractions and smoked aferwards but I have had no extractions since I have started vaping.
Hope this helps but as has been said already there are probably no worries.
