As the others have said, your cough is almost certainly caused by your body detoxifying.
Vaping is very drying however, so you do need to up your liquids too, which will aid your detox as well.
If the liquids are alcoholic and you over indulge, a plus to not smoking tobacco is that your hangover will be less poisonous

My chest seem to be easing up at the moment, no idea what was causing it, for now Im putting it down to my body getting used to not smoking and throwing out 9 years of crud and getting used to vaping!
Currently Vaping:
Not a lot, vaping has not only got me off the fags but since moving to zero nicotine I no longer feel the need to vape either!
I owe vaping alot without even trying too I have managed to quit smoking and avoided potential future health problems. Im in control of if I inhale anything now not the fags!
Thanks everyone

hi rob iv just read through all the posts before i made a coment. most likley im thinking it has been the detoxing of your body but somthing nobody has mentioned that it could have also been is that during the detox many people get common colds etc because, 1 your body is in a way going through a form of shock and well i think it might be the bodys way of saying im busy trying to understand why im not getting the thousands of other chemicals that are ment to be in my system through smoking. i could be wrong and if i am then somone please feel free to step in if i am cos im a new vaper myself. also it could be that on a subconsious mental level the brain has litteraly helped to bring these symptom on. its amazing what the mind can do and well it is the control centre of our body. we only need to have changes in our lives and we can feel the outside effect take place inside us. as a very wise person said the body is our temple what go's into it or around will effect it.
another thing is if your going use any e juice i personaly would avoid PEG. i heard that its toxic as it contains DEG which is world known to be extremely poisonous. its organic so some people would say oh its organic its fine, but i dont think manny people would smoke deadly nightshade and thats organic LOL. anyways i hope some of this helps if all of it does then YAY me LOL.
dont quit quiting, keep on vaping.

As already stated , your lungs will be adjusting to their new life . You get about a month of aggro then its all upward progress . It must also be remembered that tobacco smoke is a natural bronchodilator(like the blue asthma inhalers) so that effect will be wearing off .
Also many users report some allergic responses to pg and vg ,both initially and by overexposure . However it seems to me that no matter how benign the ingredients are ,long exposure is gonna affect respiratory health . Long term exposure to inhaled liquids and particles is bound to have consequences, I see this as a necessary evil personnally. The research into inhaled matter in the workplace and the home would tend to support this

Really, I was not aware of this.
Having said that I don't use it either.

PEG will be avoided I currently use PG for flavouring and nicotine and VG, Ideally Im looking to one day replace the nicotine with a concentration that replicates the throat hit of nicotine without the addiction, but for now as long as I dont find I have an allergy I will continue vaping the PG Nicotine I have

The video is wrong unfortunately. All glycols like PG, VG, and PEG can contain traces of DEG (diethylene glycol) as a by-product of manufacturing. That's why whatever you use it's important to use pharmaceutical grade (USP, BP, EP) base and not stuff intended for industrial use, as the pharma grades are intended for human consumption and have as close to nil levels of DEG as possible. One reason why cheapest is not always best
Personally I don't like PEG400 anyway, it tastes funny to me. But to avoid it because "it contains DEG" is wrong. It's widely used in medicines.

pg base made me feel like i had asthma so i used as much pg as possible without losing the throat hit and i was fine after that,
also after a heavy vape i think some of the vapour condenses in the windpipe which makes you cough and feel chesty, i thought it was the healing process at first but now that i dont vape anymore either i dont get chesty or wheezy anymore.

Sorry to jump on this thread, but I couldnrt be arsed to trawl through the other topics, and I do have the odd cough when vaping
Is vaping as addictive as smoking analogs ?
(only beeen vaping a week now though, havent had a smoke in that time)
Have a bit of a wheezy chest at times, but I'm hoping getting off the analogs will help me improve my fitness levels, but after 45 odd years of analogs, it wont happen in a month, I know
Not really sure about all the terms you all used (VG, PG, DEG)
Never really did much research about ecigs, I just couldnt afford analogs any more,(@£6.50 a day, who can ?) so I got an NJoy, but it didnt quite come up to my expectations (the battery was rubbish) so I looked at various forums and spoke to liberty flights, told them what I was after,
In the long term, I want to be able to give up vaping with any nicotine, then just enjoy the flavours (bit like a hookah in Egypt I suppose)
