righty, i just thought i would put this out there for any new vapers that quit analouges or for anyone that just quit analouges another way that are suffering with mouth ulsars and or other pains in the mouth.

i have been quit smoking and vacame a vaper 13 days ago now and i for the first few days everything was fine but then after that period had passed i got the dreaded quiting side effects. i developed mouth ulsars and other pains on my tounge where i think i may have been grinding my teeth and/or biteing the inside of my mouth when i was asleep or just generaly unknowingly thrughout the day. the ulsars where in difficult places to get anything on them. so decided to get a mouthwash but i was dreading the idea of putting somthing as strong as most mouth washes on thing that it would hurt or agrivate it even more. so i decided to get Dentyl active clove mouthwash, its alcohol free so it wont have that burning feeling. it leaves your mouth refreshed and 3 days latter i have got rid of all of my ulsars and other mouth pains. it also helped when i was first vaping for another reason. when i first started i noticed that my mouth became easily dried out and with muth was just twice a day i noticed that had also stopped.

i just thought i would post this hear in case in can help anyone with the same things i was suffering with. a good place to get it from at the min is tesco as they have it on a buy one get one free for £3, quite big bottles different flavours, its the one you have to shake with the other liguid that floats on the botom liquid.
hope this helps anyone that making the change.

dont quit quiting, keep on vaping.

Nice post and it's helpful to remind ourselves of the cleansing process the body goes through when you stop smoking. Ulcers are a common complaint and unpleasant but for me it was transitional, along with the coughing etc as the lungs repaired themselves a little (though I don't kid myself that 30 odd years of smoking hasn't caused irreparable damage of some sort)

Short term pain for long term gain though :)

I certainly feel better
Vaping what the hell I like (as usual) Sharing the joy of the SDK with pub-goers but enjoying the intensity of the HH357 at home and the sheer practicality and fafflesness (its a word i made up) of the Lil mama on the Touchwood. 306DCA..dripping monster

I WAS THERE AT VAPEFEST 2010!
MISSED VAPEFEST 2011! Vapefest 2012 in August..worst time for me :(

Thats a great story, thankyou! I was lucky - I've seen a few posts about getting ulcers on vaping forums as well as quitting forums along with ones about temporary spots, dry skin etc. I guess our 'flora' need to get to a new equilibrium or something. I much prefer my new pink tongue to the one I used to have, though, lol!

its great when your sense of smell comes back to what it should be and your taste buds just pop back to life.

I've had just one ulcer on the tip of my tongue since I started vaping nearly four months ago, it lasted roughly 24 hours then cleared up by itself. My sense of smell seems to have improved slightly and my sense of taste has remained pretty much as it was.

Kind of :) there are times I wish I could have a rollie just to block out some stenches..... To the OP, if you had gone for lysterine (sp?) instead of dentyl then you could of vaped it as well as using it for intended purpose. lysterine may not be quiet as gentle on your ulcers but great for vaping (with a bit of thickening).

not really, some can contain some funny stuff but some not. The ones that do would almost certainly not contain dangerous things (any more-so than eliquid) which would sublime (or vape)anyway so (in this case)there is little danger to yourself but maybe to your atty. colgate plax is another good one.

Don't listen to me though ;)

i am hoping that vaping will improve my nasty comndition as docs do say its smoking related but hey what aint related to smoking lol

One of the ironies of giving up smoking! I have had galloping gum disease for years but very little bleeding due to the effects tobacco smoke has on the circulation. The bleeding is a sign of it improving to the point where you can see the evidence of your gum disease. As Hil says, consult your dentist ASAP. It will never get cured but treatment will help reduce the damage.

If you get mouth ulcers, Bonjela Adult works a treat. It anaesthetises and cures at the same time.

if was you i would deffo get around to the dentist. bleeding gums could be many things but what you dont want is to leave it alone to long. you only get one mouth LOL. id get a check up just to put my mind at ease. in fact i went to the doctors today thinking i might be alergic to pg cos the right hand side of my throat is red and hurting like hell, but it turns out i just have a viral infection. when i told them about the quiting smoking and showing them my e cig they said to stick with it because its working for me and that they dont think its a reaction to pg because if it was an allergic reaction then the effects would be likely more wide spread rather than just around the right hand side of my throat. so they just gave me some antibiotics and told me to get my wife to go aswell as it turns out she has the same complaint but hasnt quit analouges.

Yeah as the blood flow increases gum disease can accelerate .Its not a problem exclusive to vapers ,just quitters in general . I use a clorhexidine-gluconate mouthwash and hot salty water ,it seems to do the trick .

I just think the weird thing is about quitting the fags and starting vaping is that I'm much more aware of what's going on in my mouth. I never used to think about it but now I'm like "ooh that's odd" or "that's a strange taste"...the whole experience is just ODD... :)
