Not sure about this because I definitely get the muscle/joint aches after vaping pg but not vg. I know this for definate because I alternate filling my arry tank between pure vg and 50/50 pg/vg. The reason I have to alternate is because after 2 days (the amount of time it takes me to vape a full tank) of vaping pg my muscles seriously ache but the 2 days of vaping vg doesn't give me any aches at all. I really prefer pg to vg which is why I don't vape vg exclusively. My brother has the exact same reaction as me.
Not disputing that and the build up of lactic acid which can cause muscle pain. Just my general point is that a lot of people I've seen on various forums are too quick to convince themselves and others they have an allergy to pg (or VG) and tell them to switch to the other. Such as one I read earlier elsewhere, a new vaper listed the signs of nic OD and purposely said he had got quite a bit of juice on his hands and in his mouth while getting used to refilling carts but everyone piped up with ooh, you're probably allergic to pg, switch to vg and completely ignored the obvious cause of his symptoms. Even when people say they have have a dry, sore throat when they start and don't drink enough, I see everyone piping up with ooh, you might have a pg allergy.
Plus a lot of symptoms can be attributed to cutting right down analogs or stopping when they switch to e-cigs. Even I was surprised at the itching one and that's something I have experienced myself all last week, it's now gone and now I read that article realise it probably had something to do with cutting right down on analogs as soon as I switched to vaping (still need to get rid of the last couple!). Even my lungs have started clearing out with a cough today despite still on a couple of cigs, wasn't expecting that symptom til I had cut them completely lol
Sorry for the rant, it just gets my goat lol
