A concerened side effect?

I have started to develop a very strange thing. As soon as I get out of bed for work at 5am its time for a pint mug of tea and damned good vape to get the cotton wool out of the eyes. I vape all day on and off and then when it is the afternoon it starts. I can start to feel my face, head and ears start to go bright red and then this blushing seems to stay with me all day? I have also started to get erm teenage spots on my nose and it is very greasey and the skin on my face is very dry and cracked and have started to use cream after a shower (not very manly I know).
At first I thought it might be VG that was doing it so have now started to vape mostly full of PG and I am still getting this blushing.
Could this be with overdoing it with the nic at all?
This has only started since I started making my own juice.
I have never heard of a medical condition that makes you blush so think it must be with making my own juice.
Any help appreciated.
Thank you.

Since you say that its only started since mixing your own then it may be you have a sensitivity to one of the ingredients.
I know I get a cough from certain flavouring but others are fine, is the PG/VG & nic base you're mixing with USP/EP grade?
What strength nic are you using?
Forgot to add that I have noticed the dry skin too, think its to do with getting a bit dehydrated from vaping so have to remember to drink loads of water

The spots I've certainly experienced, and dry skin (and hair) is a continuing problem after 7 months of vaping. Seems as though there's a price to pay for everything.

I get it with VG at any concentration above 10% and at resistance lower than 3.5/4ohms and with PG at anything below about 2.5ohms. I get it worse than you though, although I didn't get it at all initially, I think vaping VG juice at 6v a couple of years ago started it off.
Does this sound familiar to you?

A 50/50 in a 2.6ohm clearo will do it, my face will start to feel hot and I'll get a prickly sensation on the skin, if I look in the mirror I'll have flushed cheeks. If I continue to vape it I'll end up stripping clothes off as my whole body follows suit.
If I start drinking alcohol at this point I'll boil almost literally, my face will be the colour of a beetroot and I'll get a dull headache whilst getting short of breath, no drunkenness but the more I drink the worse the symptoms will get. It took a long time to pin it down to VG and things got very unpleasant indeed at times when I was attempting to have a drink at the weekend. I've stood outside shirtless in November and laid down on the kitchen lino trying to get my body temperature down.
I'm ok with it at low temperatures and in very low concentrations and with no VG I get no symptoms whatsoever, so it's definitely VG that's the cause. I have some theories regarding depletion of the enzymes by the VG normally used by the body to deal with alcohol, they stand up but no firm proof. Around 50% of Oriental Asians (which I am not) are missing these enzymes completely and drinking alcohol produces similar symptoms in them, they call it "Asian flush"..
It's weird I get this and frankly a pain in the arse

I think it might be to do with the strength of nic. I have been happily vaping 25mg nic since I started. Recently I have bought a few 36mg strength juices...just to see what they are like. I haven't had any headaches or nausea. But I have has the dryish skin and more grease on my forehead and nose.
As I say, could be pure coincidence. When I go back to 25mg I'll report back.
Tasted and recommends Grizwald56's * Perique & Black Walnut * 666 * Koffie Kick * Choc Roast Chestnut * CinnaPear * Malibu * Rumba * Creamy Pistachio * Carapple Pie * Ferrero Rocher * Cocomel * Coconut Mint Choc Chip * Honey Rum Toffee * Whisky Cream *
Can it get any better than this?

http://www.e-cigaret...fety-e-smoking/
the body purging itself of smoking induced poisons was a common reason thought up for lots of things.. one that never did make much sense to me
the dry mouth syndrome i think is real.. tis only the mouth though.. drinking lots of fluid means the body is getting more fluid.. maybe too much..
one thing that puzzled me when i went back to fags for a day was my mouth seemed to get dryer than ever towards the end of the day.. odd that one..
maybe its best not to read the link at all.. he he

On a more serious note Kenny, I cannot go back to fags, my mother died a few months ago from cancer and it seems that everyone who has died from the same cancer smoked. I don't know why but this cancer is killing my family one by one if they have or ever have smoked, my mum's doctor said that if anyone one of you smoke stop now...if you don't you will die of exactly the same cancer.... My cousin of 41 years...same age as me died a month ago, leaving 3 kids and a husband and she only smoked for 3 years.
So I decided to stop, and tried e-cigs for which they are a god send. It has been over 18 months now and no cig has touched my lips in that time which worries me having this blushing thinking that there is something wrong.
acousticvillage I hope it is the point of too much nic so will try a lot lower nic in my mix, thank you.

Sorry to hear about the cancer problems in your family.
I think you may have answered your own question maybe by your comment:
'This has only started since I started making my own juice.
I have never heard of a medical condition that makes you blush so think it must be with making my own juice.'
You do not explain how you mix your own juice but would suggest that you buy pre-mixed juices from reputable vendors and see if it makes a difference.
Not sure if this will help but its worth a try.

hey somthing you just said there made my ears perk up kenny. you said you havent heard of a medical condition that makes to flush. well when i read that somthing rang true there for me. i think you might need to speak to your GP format. i might be way off on this one but it could be that you have developed a blood presure problem. the reason i say this is because my mum has had to strokes her first one was when she was in her 30s. she is now on blood presure treatment as it is a constant problem for her and others in our family suffer with it to. it seems to me you have also been going through a rough time with your loss so that might be contributeing. also nicotine is also related to blood presure as it constricts the blood vessels, this narrowing of the vessels increases blood pressure.so it could be that you are either taking to much nic or it could also be that you could need some medical advise. also try to remember if there are any other feeling going on if you speak to a GP, like for an example dizziness or loss of any of your senses such as your hearing or if things go black.
i hope this helps

Yep what you are saying is possible and worth a check up with a GP.
Bye the way I did not say this: I have never heard of a medical condition that makes you blush so think it must be with making my own juice.'
I was quoting Format.

It seems that whilst your smoking the effects of smoking surpress other conditions , so rather than ask is it the vg or pg giving the reaction is it a side effect of giving up smoking ???
I dont know the answer sozz
I took the following from the internet -
unfortunately quitting smoking itself seems to disrupt the immune system. you do not get rosacea from stopping the use of nicotine lozenges; however you do can get it from quitting smoking.
I got rosacea immediately after quitting smoking. it was so bad that i had raw ulcerations on my face.
while medical specialists still can not agree on the exact causes or causes of rosacea i will tell you that without a doubt, rosacea is an auto immune condition. it is caused by an irregular response to chemical changes in neurotransmitters in the body. when we smoke, our bodies recognize nicotine as a synthetic neurotransmitter called acetylcholine. acetylcholine is neurotransmitter that is used through the body as a chemical messenger in neurons that are involved in memory alertness, in the central nervous system, and muscle and body control in the peripheral nervous systems. the problem that arises when we stop smoking, is that are bodies have tons of receptors for acetylholine, infact, the receptors probably outnumber the presence of the neurotransmitter by atleast 100 to 1. but in the bodies of cigarette smokers, the nervous system recognizes the over abundance of the extra acetylcholine and uses it . when you stop smoking, your nervous system will most likely go into shock, which in turn can signal to the immune system that there is a problem. the immune system may now think there is an infection, and in the case of rosacea it starts to produce an excess of inflammatory enzymes that cause the inflammation of rosacea.
any time their is a major disruption to chemical processes in the body, their is a risk of developing autoimmune diseases. for the most part auto immune diseases hard to control and can lead to serious other health problems .
