Clockworks RTA Review
First let me just say that this review in done to show WHAT the RTA is and what it does....I havent gone into any fine tech details about it ( for all that kind of info i suggest you ask Steve ( clockworks ) himself ( he dont bite )
Steve sent me this to test and review free of charge so any problems or adjustments could be made BEFORE he supplies them to anyone ..so that way folk get an item as good as possible. ( and hassle ( faff ) free.)
This is what came to me ( lets have a look at it )

By fynger1 at 2011-08-27

It is ..50 mm long and 20 mm wide
First impressions looking at it is ..its very solid..( i wasnt expecting the Ally top half ) a very compact Item and very well made whereas there are NO gaps or lose joints anywhere.
Taking the top section off by wobbling and pulling it POPS off and you can see the Coil connected to two towers with screws on top so the contacts are made well and easy to get at.

You can see the wicks running trough the coil and down into the chamber below...also is another wick that confused me at first coming from the tank below and lying under the coil...this helps wick more juice to the coil and also acts as a kind of 'mop' under the coil and stops any juice going down the center air hole ( i can say that this works really well as ive never had any juice run down to the connector. )
The coils came wrapped 5 times around the wick and was moist with plain PG.
So lets fill it up
Simple...there is a screw on the side of the tank with a rubber ring around it making it fairly easy to get a grip and undo it with your fingers

By fynger1 at 2011-08-27
Filling it this way eliminates the need for a syringe as a juice bottle with a fine nozzle will suffice...so no need to carry a complete medical kit when out and about.
Once filled ...I attached it to a battery and fired it up....lots of vapour ...and with just a few fire ups i could smell the flavour of my juice.....so that showed the wicking was working....so back on with the top ( again a good solid POP )..inserted a drip tip ( again a good fit )....and give it a vape.

The skewifness of the RTA is MY BOX not the connector on the RTA.

By fynger1 at 2011-08-27
It vapes like a trooper....Loads as you can see in the picture....I dont have any VV's or 6v's...only 3.7V battery mods...so I cant comment on anything else other than 3.7v
The Flavour was very strong and altho Mrs Fynger thinks its quite a warm vape , i dint think it was but i'm used to dripping and she's not.
With alot of use I am glad in some ways that I got the Ally top cap as i can get it quite hot ( like an Atty with long toots ) so if it was a clear top like the tank part it might have a shorter life span ( if cracking is a problem ?? )
The first few tankfulls i didnt do any cleaning and changed flavour each time and it only took a few toots before the flavour of the new juice came through ( this would be different for everyone tho depending on how strong/weak your flavours were. )
It wicks all the way to the bottom of the tank too and Ive never had a dry spot..which i was pleased at as the wick could keep up with my long toots.
..Changing the wick/coil...ok as with all of the re-buildable Atty's its a fiddly little job...but this was quite easy....I didnt need to change it as it was working ok but I thought ide see how easy it was..The screw contacts are about 8mm apart so there is a decent amount of room to manouver in there and as they are stuck up on top they are easy to get to,,,,the fiddliest part i found was pushing the wicks down their holes into the tank as the little hooky thing i was using kept bringing them back out again ..you could take the tank off and pull them through but no not me...i just had to be awkward.
So all in all I would say this is a Very good Atty/tank system..I have had no leaks anywhere.and ive tried by shaking it - shaking it upside down...i had it layed down on its side on a piece of paper for hours and not a speck of juice has leaked.....So Im very impressed.
So are there any down sides to this ?????
Some people may not like the filler screw on the side....I do..it makes it a lot easier to fill without taking it apart...so if you want one with NO filler screw and you want to fill it using a syringe though the wick holes ..i think you'll wish you had the filler screw in time.
Manufacture and assembly..NO there are NO down sides...It is very solid and well made...the top has never come off in my pocket...
Personnally the only thing I would want more out of it is a taller Tank ( i know this is NOT possible with the parts used ) ..because it IS a thirsty little bugger.

By fynger1 at 2011-08-27
Mrs Fynger keeps stealing it.
If you want any technical details about it i suggest you either PM Clockworks himself or ask on here and he'll be along to answer you.
I like it.......you will too

Nice review, Kev, and totally unsolicited (I had no prior knowledge of what Kev would post!).
A couple of points:
A small typo - it's 20mm diameter, and 50mm long (not cm, but I guess that's obvious?).
To remove the tank, you have to unscrew the terminals, as there's a ridge on the middle section. This design isn't as convenient as having the tank slide straight off, but it makes it a lot more rigid, and prevents leaks.
To wash out the tank, you can fill it with warm water via the filling screw hole. Tank removal isn't necessary.
Feeding the wicks through the holes in the middle section is easier if you moisten the wicks, and feed them down with fine tweezers.
Like the RDA, it's quite thirsty. I just dilute my juice with plain PG/VG to lower the nic content. Still plenty of flavour. You can also use a shorter coil made from higher resistance wire - less surface area will vaporise less juice.
As well as looking nice, the ally top tube won't crack. Some flavours (notably pear, banana and cinnamon) can do bad things to acrylic and polycarbonate.
Finally, I hope to ship the first batch in less than 2 weeks, all being well. I was waiting for the review before I started "production", just in case!

Great review Fynger. I really REALLY want one of these! Can't wait til Steve starts selling them.
The RDA is a great atty, but having the benefits of a tank too will be great. Can't see this ever leaving my VV mod once it's on there.

Psycho pointed my measurement typo's out to me...so I have changed it
I would imagine if you are going to be running it on a VV then it would depend a lot on you making the coil to run best at the voltage you use...I can see that could become an art form in itself.

Glad I'm at the top of the list hehe, looking at the photos by removing the drip tip you can insert a needle straight into the wick hole I'm I correct, the other thing I would worry about sorry clockwork is how long the actual thread would last on the tube for the screw to hold, may be change the screw to plastic with a supply line for people just an idea
Looks great

Price....Not my department....You'll have to ask Clockworks......I did the field test...luckily there's plenty of fields round here.
