As a right old git, I remember the beer world when CAMRA first started - a world of Watney's Red Barrel and closure by takeover of umpteen small local brewers. At that time I think CAMRA did serve a purpose in rasing awareness of the need to preserve proper ale - but, as is often the case with such organisations (and I think the "judging for "pub of the month" and inclusion in the GBG was the biggest thing) it became the preserve of annoying self-important people.... That's why I'm opposed to "certification" by "pressure groups" - vapers take note...
CAMRA - they just don't get it do they!?

I won't slave for beggar's pay,
likewise gold and jewels,
but I would slave to learn the way
to sink your ship of fools
likewise gold and jewels,
but I would slave to learn the way
to sink your ship of fools

I do believe it was, the name behind the pub was the obvious...erm...shall we say unabilty to preform after to many glasses of ale
the courts rejected the name when we applied for a licence but we won an appeal when we said it was a condition a brewer would
suffer from leaning over a vat stirring hops and barley into a mix while brewing beer...yes we lied and got away with it

you did a great job with the brewers ean33, given its location, not on a main route, and those council flats oposite lowering the tone, the brewers was truly a diamond in the rough, we must have met on many ocasions, i was willenhall born and breed, moved away about 10 yrs ago.
