Dont know whats up with my maxi atm but its driving me up the wall.....

Managed to get everything working apart from the vapor off it , getting some but really have to try hard for it. Using A1 32awg kanthal and #400 mesh but getting almost no vapor off it. Can vape at my voltage but still no luck.

Running out of ideas lol

Where have you got the air hole in the cap ?
Line it up with the wick. ( closest point possible to the wick )

Further away from wick you'll get not much vapour.
Closer to wick you'll get much more
:)

I have it lined up in the middle of the posts, does it need to be lined up next to a post ?

Yeah mate
As close as you can get it to the wick
Line it up with the posts and it should make a big difference

You could try "roughening" the posts a small amount, so the Kanthal "bites" and gives a better connection.

Del, I usually cut my wicks off at a 45 degrees so they flow well (although was never sure in the Maxi if it made any difference, it always wicked perfectly)

Also tried pulling the wick up so not touching the bottom

I use only 3 coils and like short, hard, warm/hot drags (same as when I smoked roll ups) :

Andy, when you said cutting your wicks off at a 45° angle, did you mean by the ends going into the tank or preparing the whole SS Mesh cut diagonally at a 45°?

Pics or vid guide of your preparation for it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :vape:

Yep, 45 degree cut on the end that goes in the tank

I've persevered with the current coil/wick (in the photo) partly due to not being arsed with making another (made about 8 in the last few days trying different sizes, grades etc) and also due to having a 4 week old baby at home!

This wick slowly seems to be getting better... the same wicks/coils in the Maxi seemed to work from day one (apart from the usual coil burn in time)

So, maybe I'm just being impatient!

Meanwhile, I followed the guide on here and vaporwall and sunk my line onto the goodship SS Don:
